It tells me that people lack purpose and direction, and lost touch with who they truly are. Unhealthy obsession with anything is a symptom of that. Sure, one can distract themselves for a while, but reality always slaps you in the face eventually. That usually happens around age 30, lol. HOPEFULLY.

I know you're making a joke, and it's kind of funny, but in a tragic sense. And I'm a party-pooper, so I'll indulge it.

The more disconnected we become from nature and the planet, the more sick and miserable we become - and there is a significant push to get humanity even more disconnected (AI, Metaverse, brain implants, VR, transhumanism, etc). Isn't that the deepest message in FFVII to begin with? What happens to our race and our world when we become disconnected and play God?

Video games are lots of fun, but they aren't life. Sure, we can have the metaphysical discussion about life itself being a video game/simulation (which it is), but the purpose of life isn't to escape it, but to live it. And life isn't just fun and games; it's also hard, bitter, way too short, and taken for granted. The sickness in our society is that we treat everything - our lives, our bodies, each other, the planet we live on - as disposable and usable, with no respect and no love. It's crucial to become aware of this so that we can heal, and not head towards a dystopian future.

Apparently (as far as I'm updated), when Biggs made it at the end, he had Jessie's glove, which people speculate is an indication that she might be alive. But I'm not sure whether anything has been confirmed yet. I'm sure others and happy to jump in and correct me.

Jokes aside, one of the most dystopic things I've ever read was that cows are hooked up to VR of outside so they'll be "less anxious" and produce more milk.

I haven't heard of it, but nothing surprises me anymore. They'd rather invest in VR than in improving the conditions for the animals they are exploiting. I wouldn't be surprised if the companies practicing this would use it to label their milk "humane" or "pasture raised" or whatever fake green label they use. But it's monstrous, either way.

Hahaha.... I don't hate her, but not on my favorites list either. I'm a Turks' girl all the way.
I loved Jessie's chapter though. The best from the new content in Remake IMO.

I dunno, y’all. I think they could go a step further and just kill every other female character except Madam M. Her and Cloud share an intimacy that no one else can live up to, and killing every other girl will remove any potential distractions from the true love story between a masseuse and her client.

So uh, I dunno if this or the actual remake thread is the place to post but as its story related maybe here has anyone seen what's been going on in relation to Nojima on twitter

A certain someone harrasing him on his personal twitter account was apparently the straw that broke the camel's back and now Nojima has tweeted to say he is no longer going to speak about the remake.

What an absolute shame that its come to this for him and he doesn't feel comfortable commenting any more, and I think its disgusting he's been driven to it.

Just as an extra note I'm not saying that certain someone was fully responsible for this but evidence suggests played a huge part in it. I've seen them constantly bombard all offical FG channels to get their Jessie fix in anything remotely FF7 related including including on FFBE and Dissidia Opera Omnia channels

Nojima has from what I understand been getting harassment over shipping but this seemed to be the final straw and was relentless.

People need to have respect the creators and their work, and stop the harrasment and bombarding. This is when the creators feel they have to quiet down on giving any info to their fans or feel they need to back off its crazy and disgusting

Shipping makes people crazy.

You know, this probably would have never been a thing if only there was some overt romantic affection displayed by Cloud. Implied sex and adopted children aren't good enough. He needed to have an on-screen kiss and biological children to squash this nonsense, plus a giant poster saying "I'm in a romantic relationship" on the wall in his room.

But that ship has sailed. Square doesn't want to piss off the fandom so they make it just obscure enough for these people to continue to exist. Shipping is a disease.

I would rather that Aerith live and Zack live and have everything not lead into Advent Children in the end than to have Aerith's death handled by having the Whispers forcing it to happen. That would feel so unbelievably cheap, really hope that's not what they're going for.
