I saw videos about this game when the last E3 was on, and then a recent trailer for it on youtube and that's about all I know about this game. But damn I'm looking forward to this!

Mathijs de Jonge, the director, considered it "the most risky" idea of those that were pitched. The concept explores the contrast between the beauty and danger of the world. Guerrilla Games emphasises trial and error as the basis for playing the game, choosing not to implement a tutorial.

I love games with no tutorial, it's like here's the world; deal with it.

Horizon: Zero Dawn is just brilliant. I speak as a critic who has played more “open sandbox” games than any one human should and has grown so very weary of them. I should have gotten sick of this thing in an hour, but I’ve been glued to it for days and days and I don’t want it to end. I love existing in this world – a world of desperate survival but of growing culture and a sense of hope. A world of giant metal animals that promise some breathtaking fights.

A world that’s basically Disney’s Brave meets The Last of Us, Enslaved: Journey to the West, Far Cry, Mass Effect, The Witcher, Monster Hunter, Toukiden, and loads of other really, really cool shit.

That’s basically Horizon in a nutshell – loads of really, really cool shit.

I preordered this not long ago and played it at EGX, it was beautiful to look at. We basically had a presentation of what the game's about for 20 minutes and got to play 15 minutes each with a partner. I'm really intrigued to see where the story's going.

I have been a silent observer when it comes to this game but I felt the need to come in here just to say that I am hyped af. This looks amaaaazzzziiiinnng.

Glad it's apparently as good as it first looked. I was definitely concerned it would be another open world a la Ubisoft once we started seeing more.

I don't think I'll rush to get it on release date, but I'll probably have it before the year's out.

Reviews seem to be positive all round; gameplay wise it's nothing new, but it's polished, the theme seems original enough, etc etc etc. Plus it's awesome on a technological level, looking and performing great both on PS4 and the PS4 Pro; it'll be a benchmark and showcase for the Pro for a while to come, I'm sure.

Got mine preordered and it's arriving tomorrow. Half-expected it to be here today, but then I got my email at lunch saying it's on the way from GAME. I won't be really disappointed it's not here on release day, I'll just be happy knowing it's on the way.

I'm excited for this game too, it just looks so damn awesome and aaaaagh giant animal robots is too cool. I think I love that idea. Giant robotic animals roaming a very overgrown earth. They both contrast each other yet look so harmonious. I can't wait to see the story and such.

I'm a sucker for scenery porn (not as rude as it sounds ) so I already know I'm be staring at the enviroment for hours. The graphics look so good.
I pre-ordered as well, should be waiting for me when I get home from work.

I've played the first hour and really enjoying it so far!

I found it a bit awkward to play at EGX because you were literally thrown in at the deep end, but I think I'll be fine now I've gone through the tutorial.
