Definitely see Sephiroth listening to classical, especially Tchaikovsky. Rachmaninoff too, even Chopin's Raindrop Prelude (I feel like it would fit his pre-Nibelheim penchant for mood swings ). I could also see him being a big opera fan (I mean just look at OWA).

I could totally see Tifa as a smooth jazz person - and I don't mean elevator music, I mean melancholy but passionate improv piano that you listen to when it rains. Stone Eyes from the VotL album is the first example I can think of. Also some neo-classical - Ludovico Einaudi, Clint Mansell. And yes, Coldplay too.

Cid - yep, classic rock.

Yuffie I see listening to just about everything upbeat she can sing/dance/electric guitar to. Lykke Li, Ingrid Michaelson, Bohemian Rhapsody, random oldies music (Erasur, Peggy March, The Exciters).

Cloud - Some metal, some rock. Apocalyptica.

Aerith - Considering how much she loves people, I could see her into a lot of world music.

Barret - In addition to angsty-political rock/metal stuff, Covenant. We command the system, calling all receivers, we are noisy people, for a better living. (aka angsty-political electronic stuff).

Reeve - Electronic. Chill stuff, like liquid drum and bass or dubstep (the stuff you listen to when you smoke weed, not Skrillex's hit of the week).

Vincent - I don't think Vincent would listen to a lot of music. When he did, though - Die Moldau, or maybe Holst (Jupiter maybe?).

Red - He would pretend to listen to classical or jazz classics but really his room would be full of Sum 41 CDs.

Zack does too. They are two huge losers who listen to country music unironcially.

Everything thinks they're really uncool because of this.

Nah, she strikes me as being Classical and Jazz inclined.
Cloud is rock and metal, but with a special love for hair bands. He probably understands a lot of Emo songs, but he's not exactly fond of it.
Cait Sith and Reeve are Celtic nuts, and listen to a lot of experimental Euro stuff, like Bjork.
Barret is entirely Political music, but he's got a big soft spot for Les Mis and other revolution songs.
Aerith is probably desperately trying to get into mainstream music but really likes not 'indie' but weird ecclectic stuff.
Red is into Emo stuff.
Cid is classic Rock and especially Frank Zappa.
Vincent is into the hip new sounds of the 80s.
Yuffie is into all sorts of stuff, but maintains her favorite music is classic Jaoanese folk songs, but mostly out of cultural pride.

Tifa - a polarising mix of very respectable classically composed orchestra music, as well as things akin to Vanessa Carlton’s 1000 Miles (see the movie White Chicks).

Yuffie - obnoxiously obsessed with KPop. She also is a big fan of Korean dramas but would never admit it. Also likes some JPop, but KPop is her true love.

Barret - has a reputation to play loud, politically-charged rap ala Public Enemy, but his true love is for the emotional power-ballads from the likes of Celine Dion et al.

Red XIII - going through his weeaboo phase. Only shares this with Yuffie. They bond over it, but she finds him kind of annoying.

Vincent - one word: Evanescence.

Reeve - top 40. Always top 40.

Aerith: Jefferson Airplane-White Rabbit and Somebody to Love (prompting Tifa to look at Aerith as if she grew a third eye on a stalk from her forehead), Janis Joplin-Piece of My Heart and Claude Debussy-Clair De Lune.
Cloud: Kansas-Carry On Wayward Son, Credence Clearwater Revival-Bad Moon Rising, Looking Out My Back Door and The Eagles-Hotel California and Peaceful Easy Feeling.
Zack: Queen-Somebody to Love, Bohemian Rhapsody, Under Pressure, Princes of the Universe, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, We Are The Champions and (why the hell not) Fat Bottomed Girls.

Sephiroth: Drawing a blank here, but I'd rule Voltaire out. I sincerely doubt that Sephiroth possess the sense of humor and whimsy needed to enjoy Voltaire. Aerith of all people, would make more sense as a Voltaire fan.
