Well, since I guess the cat's already out of the bag, I'll summarise the whole thing. Someone posted nudes in the donator section that also included lingerie pics of someone he knew as well. This set Celes off for whatever reason, and she had words with several other forum members. When we told her that she was out of line, she flounced, and decided that we're a forum full of sexual predators who are grooming each other or something. I don't even know. She also decided to reveal personal information from the donator section, which we have a strict rule against because members post plenty of private information there, and if it weren't already common knowledge I wouldn't be revealing those events.

Anyway, that's pretty much it.

Yeah, the person who posted the picture said he had permission from the woman in them to do so, and we have no reason to doubt him. He also deleted the post containing the picture after the drama.

This isn't the first time Celes has had drama with other people over sexual issues. She actually drove at least two members away from the forum several years ago with her judgemental attitude in another thread (and provoked at least two others to stop posting in that one thread), although they eventually returned to us. She was completely unwilling to own up to any responsibility for her part in that, either.

Incidentally, I just slapped a content warning on the donator section, which should probably have been done years ago. I also reiterated the "do not share information from this section" rule.

Also, too, I want to commend everyone (other than Celes of course) for the way they've behaved over this. While there have been a couple of sarcastic remarks, that's nothing by this forum's standards, and people have quickly owned up to them being out of line. If this had happened three years ago it would probably have created an explosion of drama that would have resulted in at least three other people leaving the boards as well. So, well done, everyone. :monster:

I almost want to go to the "say something nice about another member" thrad to say this, but I cba. So:

There are some subjects that arise on this forum that make me gape, gawk and scratch my head but I honestly feel like everyone in this community is open and understanding enough to just accept their fellow members for who they are, despite everyone's differences of opinion.

I think what's being overlooked here is the fact that many of us are ancient fossils from a community that was formed over 10 years ago when some of us were still technically just kids. I joined ACF when I was 14 years old or so and I've stuck to this community despite the fact that I've changed through the years. I obviously don't geek over FFVII the way that I used to...in fact I'm probably one of the least ff-content-contributing members of this site. However in all honesty, only the nostalgic child in me is here to read articles about Final Fantasy. The mostly-grown-up me is here to be a part of an awesome community that made up a big part of my early teenage years.

I accept anyone who has strange fetishes.
I accept all opinions that contradict my own.
And most importantly, I accept everyone here just the way that they are because seriously, we are all just human beings. :properhug:

Honestly, she missed the point entirely. It's one thing to disagree with someone, it's another to be low-minded, to judge, and be unkind to other people. If you have a truth that you stand by - then great!!! Discuss it, defend it, and feel free to challenges the truths of others. Don't attack them. If you do, you're only sabotaging your own thoughts and opinions.
