Roche makes me laugh with how zany he is, and I've honestly never liked Reno very much ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Axel is Reno but better anyway.

I didn't like her in the novel either tbh. Though it's been a while and I mostly skimmed it.

I don't remember how Kyrie was in the novel, though honestly I find it hard to remember anything from The Kids Are Alright novel.

At least the remake now has me remember Kyrie as that game's Not!Yuffie. Her thieving and general demeanor was too close to Yuffie to be a coincidence, almost like she was part of the game's apology for not extending beyond Midgar.
