In other news, the partner I met up with was not Ryu. It was someone going by Usinji88.

Both of us reached the other side of the bridge without restoring any of it, and played the whole game together, picking up every scarf piece along the way and never once getting spotted by a wyrm (not even in the Trials). We also drew hearts in the snow for each other at the end, and crossed the finish line together. It was a lot of fun.

Maybe we'll meet up next time we try this, guys.
