Well, shit. Based on what you said above, why would anyone play the PS3 edition rather than the original on the PS2 (other than console availability, mind you)?

i guess it's not too bad that i didn't get the ps3 version now, as long as they speed it up for the ps4
also fix the fucking lip sync because in kh1 like half the lip sync was to the japanese audio and half looked like it was english and it was distracted and it used to have good lip sync

Because the load times are mostly a minor thing all things considered. Final Mix finally being available + HD and newly arranged and recorded soundtrack made it worthwhile imo.
For the drive form stagger there is at least a workaround in pausing the game for a few seconds right after activation to give the game time to load.
It's dumb it has to be done this way though. There should've been a patch.

Yeah a lot of people don't know about the pause thing though.
As for why would anyone play the PS3 version over the PS2 version... well for me personally, the PS2 version was never released in English, so when it was I picked it up.
And during a causal playthrough, you don't really notice the load times that much. I only noticed it, as I said before, when trying to reenter data battles. I was just explaining to JechtShotMK9 why "not dying" doesn't mean he wouldn't experience load times and why it needs to be fixed.

But yeah... basically that. There's no reason NOT to re release these on PS4... at all. I really do hope they do the data install thing and fix the bugs... if not, I probably won't buy it. But here's looking forward to a hopefully better game

Also square did fuck up the random number generator when they put ffx/x-2 on the PS4 so there's no guarantee they won't introduce more bugs

That's true... which is why I plan on waiting to read reviews before buying it to make sure it actually works... and how DID they screw that up anyway?

That's a lotta games, yo. I shouldn't have bothered even picking up II.5 (the only one I have). But I'm still probably better off waiting for the release that includes the II.8 stuff as well.

I find it extremely doubtful that all 3 collections will ever be included together in a standard release. Nomura seemed to imply it isn't really a priority, and Japan is merely getting a special box to house 2.8.
I will gladly look the fool if otherwise. Even then, it would take a while.
