"Dem-icks" looks like it would be pronounced like "dim" (i.e., the opposite of "bright") and "icks" (like in "licks").

"Deh-mix" looks like it would be "day" (opppsite of "night") and "mix" (i.e., like something mixed).

The first is my preference, though the latter is how it's pronounced in Japanese.

I was like that, but it comes back to you in bits and pieces as you go along. Had the same mindset at Wonderland and then was like, "Oh yeah! I remember how to do this accursed world."

I'm not yet sure if there's an audio clip, but the way his name is spelled in katakana is デミックス.

Since Japanese is read in quite a straightforward way in terms of vowels, just like Spanish, the Katakana is actually quite revealing, for me.

Can someone who has this please tell me how "Demyx" is pronounced? I haven't found any videos online yet and someone on Tumblr was freaking out about "saying it wrong" this whole time... so I'm curious.. .is it something weird like "Dimes" or something? I've been saying Dem-icks, is that right?

A mix between cool, interesting and annoying.

Cool additions, interesting designs and ideas to kill them. Annoying that they're mostly found in one spot and you need to kill them to complete the journal. Essentially, they add little but you still got to kill them.

But eh, they're quite alright


I'm about to finish Atlantica now. Except for the Coliseum, I find my playing style has gotten used to the game by now and I no longer struggle during the fights, at all. I feel I have become a better player. And that is a great thing.

You also have to kill them all (several times) to synth every item

Well 11 years after I played the game for the first time and I still need about 20 minutes to beat Riku in a race.

I just found out that, even in the hardest difficulty, which I am playing right now, I need to kill Kurt Zisa and Phantom to complete the Journal; so if I want to see the secret movie (it's the goal I had set myself for this playthrough), I'd have to do that.

I don't know if I want to try. I'm a hard working person (ie. grinding) but I'm not sure I'm very good. So I wonder if I can actually do it at a reasonable level... I'm at 59 now, so I still have 40 more levels to advance. And I know I could focus on improving weapons too, but for some reason the whole item farming thing is kind of tedious for me, as much as I enjoy the rest of the game.

So I'm stuck in a position where I may simply not be able to do what I wanted to do. Right now I'm about to go and beat the Time Trial Hercules cup and then Hades cup so that I at least fight some of the enemies that I am still missing in my journal, as well as getting Ansem Report #8. Then, after that, only finishing the game and the two vicious enemies will be left. After that, we'll see I guess.

But I am feeling frustrated already.

Standard:

Original Secret Movie
- Finish the story on all worlds
- Rescue all of the 101 Dalmatians

Final Mix Secret Movie
- Fulfil the conditions for the Original Secret Movie
- Complete the Jiminy Memo section so that a yellow Mickey icon appears

Finishing the story on all the worlds presumably entails following the story to
the end on each world, i.e. locking all the keyholes and finishing the Jiminy
Memo Story So Far section, so that you get the yellow Mickey icon for it.

Completing the Jiminy Memo section means completing and getting a Mickey mark next to all the sections, at which point one will appear next to the Jiminy Memo button on the main menu. See the Jiminy Memo section of this FAQ for details.

Proud Mode

Original Secret Movie
- Just finish the game; no special conditions

Final Mix Secret Movie
- Finish the story on all worlds
- Win the normal round of the Hades Cup

Although I found that some sites post slightly different unlock conditions...

These two optional bosses are heartless so they appear in the heartless section of the journal. So you need to kill them to complete it . Sadly.

("Finishing the story on all worlds" + "winning the normal round of the Hades Cup" would be neat, since it's easy to do. But...)

EDIT: Apparently, extra Ansem Reports; one of them is in the hands of Sephy and the other in the hands of Xemnas. Yeah, not going to happen. Oh well.

Different explanations here and there confuse me, but it seems there's still a chance of it being "just" beating the game + Hades + all keyholes? If that is the truth, then I'm happy as it's what I thought it was and the very reason I decided to go for proud mode!! I'll report once I can give a clearer answer!

I'm almost certain you don't need to complete the journal on Proud since you already have to do that on Standard, and the conditions are supposed to get easier on harder difficulties.

What aspect ratio is the game in? I just bought it and a ps3 today, havent messed around with it much yet. But CoM seems to be in 4:3. Might be just my imagination though. Im not sure if there's a setting somewhere, either in the game or on the PS3 :/

I'm sure I got Deep Dive and I sure as he'll didn't beat the optional bosses. I'll have to check my save but I think I just sealed the keyholes and did the Hades cup.
