In an effort to boost my confidence.... well not really that but whatever.
I'm forcing myself to actually post my art somewhere.

For now I'll just post one I'm actually semi-proud of. XD
It's in my siggy too, but that's not the point.

Sketchy lines, small nose His mask bends weird. The top half of his head is at a different angle than the bottom half. Uneven eyes. Straggly hair. I could go on.

You know what's a sign you're a good artist? Being so hard on yourself. I used to date someone who was able to get really good pictures, yet she'd never be happy with them. I feel the same with your pictures; I would say they look really good, you would find lots of mistakes. Keep drawing and you'll get even better!

Well the way I figure it, if I don't see the errors then I can't possibly improve by trying to fix them so really the fact that I see all these mistakes is a good thing because that means I can make them better, hopefully, in the future.
Doesn't do much for my self esteem though. XD

Would it help your self esteem if I said I am never going to be able to draw the way you do right now, and that if I did, my life would be much more better?? I'm not exaggerating, either. I have lots of things I would love to draw, and I am absolute rubbish, so...

Well I draw almost every day and have done so for about 4 years now, so not SO amazing if you think about it that way. XD
But I think my anatomy is getting better in general but my drawing range is crap. I'm trying to expand WHAT I can draw so that it's not limited to bust shots and people just standing there.

I hate that picture. There are so many things wrong with it I'm not going into it.
HOWEVER It was good practice in poses and expressions and backgrounds.
Backgrounds are my Achilles Heel if you will. T_T

Wow, I think you did a great job on all of them, and I will agree that there's always room for improvement for each of those pics you showed. Hopefully we'll see more growth from you when you share your future pics! I look forward to it!

If I didn't know better, I'd swear you were my friend Alisa. No one else I know is as awesome at art, and equally as angst / hard on themselves about it.

I only just noticed this thread. I likes these, theyre pretty swish. And I agree with what everyone else said, a true artist is never satisfied and always striving for perfection! Thats what I tell myself anyway
