Should I add just a bit more detail to these mountains and just basically clean them up? Or should I really define them? Hmmm.... I have so many queschons.
I didn't say she was too long though... xD And yes, I can see that she is a pixie. But I mean like her legs look normal sized to me, so the upper part looks way too skinny. But I don't know shit so don't take it from me. xD
I think the forearms are a bit odd looking, and if the skirt of leaves weren't there, I think the connection of her left leg and hip would be way off. You could try drawing the figure sans clothing obstructions to get proportions, then add the clothing on afterwards
Her ankles are like a millimeter thick
And actually I drew her without clothes to begin with. The problem is that the flow of the skirt doesn't match the leg and it looks better now that I fixed that.
I plumped her stomach out a little tiny bit but her arms and legs are like half again as long as they should be and about half as thin once it gets to the wrists and ankles.
But I'll update in a sec once I'm done redrawing a bit more.
I was trying to make her arms and hands look more twig like. I'm still working on her body's skin's shading.
Wow that sounded weird.
And hm.... Protruding out more?
I think trying to look at her as a person she looks off but as a fantasy woodland creature she looks interesting and unique. If you want her to look more human-like I'd say the legs just need to be a bit shorter. Right now, she looks off just in her extended leg and for the reason that it's very long. But if you're going for looking strange because she's not human than I think it works.
Really like this, I quite like how spindly she is given that shes a fairy/pixie. Also I cannot believe that I never thought to put all the colours I was using on a layer for reference. This is done in Photoshop right?
My only minor criticism is that her bust area seems to be facing us ever so slightly more than she is? But that could just be fixed by repositioning the lines defining the undersides. Honestly though I think you could leave it as is and it would be fine.
I made her arms and legs extra long and thin because she's a pixie. Especially her legs. I wanted her to be not QUITE right without looking wrong. If that makes sense. I didn't want her to be completely human-like.
Actually this is done, like everything else I draw, in the GIMP. And yeah I tried to fix that a little already and I shrunk down her chin a little.
The colors of the clothes look great, IMO. I love the color work you're doing on this. I've used GIMP before, but long, long ago and just a little bit for funzies in college. You have a much better hand on it than I ever did, haha.
Oh I meant to ask, do you sketch and scan or do you just do everything in GIMP?
I'm trying to move into doing everything in PS but I'm having trouble getting my brush settings just so
Actually I sketch it all on gimp about 500 times. XDD
I start with a little basic composition sketch that is so bad no one but me even knows what it is, and then I add a layer and trace over it but in a more refined way.
and keep doing that over and over again until I'm satisfied.
XD And then I color it and remove all the lines. X_X
But yeah I start with a thick brush and slowly move to the 1 pixel brush while using the paintbrush tool, not the pencil. X_X
