I'm not getting an Oyster card, I'm coming directly from Manchester Piccadilly to London Euston. It's only a 10-minute walk to the hotel from there, but if anyone's pulling in at that station, llet me know and maybe we could walk together?

I arrive at Euston at 1:45pm, but I'm happy to meet up with people and guide them to the hotel if you want some help. I've been around the area a couple of times and apparently, I have a good sense of direction.

If y'all can make some kind of tentative plan for when and where you'll be on the Friday evening I might pop into London to join you before going back to sleep at my parents' place. I've been thinking that it would suck to miss out on the collective first-time-meeting-everyone excitement.

This sounds too sophisticated to me. I'm not going to wear clothes or eat with a knife and fork - that's for Christians!

But yeah, I think -I'll have to check- some of us staying at the hotel, depending on the deal, get some free scran, so people might want to take advantage of that dinner wise. I'm not too fussed personally. As long as wherever we go does chips I'll probably be fine

I have nothing lined up food wise so I'm down with going out to get something to eat. Chips are absolutely fine If there's fish or a burger with them that's even better

Ed's Easy Diner is a great place to eat and IIRC is around twenty minutes' walk from the hotel. Gets busy though so anywhere like that will need to be booked I reckon.
The hotel deal is if you've booked for two nights or more, you get a free three-course meal on the first night, which ain't too shabby despite the mixed reviews so it might be an idea to hole up there since there's a pub and a couple of different eateries on-site. Alternatively there are a fuckton of different places around London, it's not like we're limited by choice.

My suit is supposed to be delivered on Wednesday and I got the rest of the fabric today. Nearly there!

Also Fangu I'm happy to see you've Fran'd again.

It would be nice to meet folk here before the event, but between procuring some stuff, prior arrangements to meet with a friend or two who've since moved to London, and Friday evening being used for "pre-prep", I'll be lucky to find time.

Still, the evening event will be a chance (maybe, big maybe, haha) to have proper time getting to meet you all face-to-face. The day event won't have me unreachable either, of course, just probably won't have a lot of time to stop and chat.
There'll be two guys in their mid-twenties wearing black KupoCon t-shirts - the one swaying on the verge of death will be me. Seriously, if I find myself relaxed at any point I'll consider my efforts a failure

I take it everyone here is going to the evening event?

It'll actually be in the same location in the hotel, just a smaller area unused during the day, and there will be a bar there. Shouldn't be hard to get red wine - the hotel had it offered as something to to be in your room on arrival, and I was tempted to get it for anyone who might want to use it but I figured I'd get better value (for probably a better type) elsewhere beforehand.

Anyway, should be standard stuff. Drinks have nothing to do with us trying to put out weird FF-themed cocktails or the likes

Also, I think it's worth mentioning there's a pizza place (Blooms Pizza Café) in the hotel itself - I don't eat pizza much but it's my saviour when I'm away from home.

Speaking from experience, Yop will make you sit and repeat his name for about ten minutes until you say it right. I'm in a landscaping group on FB and everyone I've met from there calls me Shub anyway, so I don't have a preference as long as it's not Cunt or some suchlikes.
