I saw the movie while I was in Universal Studios, the IMAX 3D was so fucking pretty, the movie looked amazing. As for the movie itself I thought it was really good, Henry Cavill and Ami Adams did a great job as Clark and Lois however I didn't find their romance in the least bit believable, I believe they rushed it quite a bit.
I'm so happy Lois knows Clark's secret in this continuity because it never made any sense that a supposedly great reporter like Lois couldn't figure that one out.
I really enjoyed the Krypton scenes at the beginning and Rusell Crowe as Jor-El. I really liked the way Clark was portrayed in the movie, he didn't seem like a complete boyscout and he was kind of snarky.
The scene at the end where Clark kills Zod, that was a very powerful moment, Clark really doesn't like taking a life but he will do what he must to protect the innocent, I suspect killing Zod is going to haunt him in the next film.
I liked the more realistic way the film portrayed how people would react to the discovery of an alien among us, they would treat him as a threat despite said aliens best intentions and the kind of damage a fight between powerful aliens would cause to a town and city. I gotta say though Faora stole the show for me, she was fucking awesome. Also Helo and Gaeta were in the film, I loved that. Is especially funny in Gaeta's case because Alessandro Juliani because he portrayed Dr Emil Hamilton in Smallville.

I found a few things about the movie I didn't like though,
Jonathan's death scene was so fucking stupid, not the part about saving the dog, he's from a farm and clearly loves animals, I wouldn't do that myself though. What annoyed me is that I think Clark could've saved the dog without exposing his powers but I do understand him preventing Clark from trying to save him, he would rather die than let his son be exposed as an alien and risk any danger to the family. The other thing is with a tornado that big shouldn't had he been blown away by it instead of just standing there before it swallowed him? As a said before I didn't really like the Clark/Lois romance, I'm not sure if it's because there isn't a lot of chemistry there or because it wasn't done properly in the movie or both. I also found myself missing the Fortress of Solitude. I would've liked to see how other Countries were reacting to the discovery of aliens among us. The other thing I didn't like was that the final fight was way too fucking long and the ridiculous way Zod climbed that building, I couldn't take him seriously after that.

As for plots for a sequel
I think we saw the LexCorp logo enough in the final fight to realize that Lex is going to be the next villain and that's he's probably going to rebuild the city with his money. I really do hope they bring Kara at some point, the open pod in the spaceship seems to imply that she's alive. I'm really tired of her getting screwed over and put on a bus on almost anything she's on and this would seem like a perfect universe for her to flourish as a character.

The LexCorp logo shows up a fair few times throughout the film, quite blatantly on the sides of trucks throughout.

I agree with the part about Pa Kent's death. The sentiment expressed from the whole thing was nice, but a) going out of his way to rescue the dog was a shamefully 90s, Twister-moment to do, and b) I thought he would have been likely ragdolled or struck by lethal debris before the tornado even came close.

You just surmised my whole thoughts on the film, Carlie. Especially with
the Clark/Lois romance. I would've liked to have seen it in the next film or two, developing from a friendship to an actual love. Also, I do love that Lois knows. I know she typically doesn't in the comics and it's a comedic, but the film doesn't always necessary follow or has to follow the comics either.

However,
I quite liked Pa Kent's death. I like that he sacrificed himself and shook his head at Clark not to save him because he knew the world wasn't ready. It was an extremely powerful moment. It just symbolises how Clark is so selfless, he learned to be so from his father.

I went to see it again the other day, and during the Zod/Supes fight a family with 2 girls aged about 5 and 7 came in and sat down. The 5 yr old wanted to leave cause it was scary, but the dad and 7 yr old stayed to finish watching. Wtf?

It was the same TDKR for me, Bruce and Selina had some funny banter here and there but the romance wasn't working at all between them, there was no chemestry whatsoever there. If you're going to portray an iconic comic book romance in a movie you gotta do it justice.

I get that but really
how on earth is it remotely believable that with a tornado that huge he didn't get struck by debris or flung in the air?

Btw
After all that trouble, did the dog even survive? I can't remember if he did.

Is it the same dog Martha has when Lois comes to the door?

Jonathans death is more poetic with him fading away like that. Being crushed by debris would just be heavy handed

I think that was a different dog, even if the other dog survived by that point he would've been dead.

Who else bets that we see at least a hint of Lex Luthor's powered armour battle suit in the next film?

I reckon he'll have started making weapons incase the kryptonians return, including battle suits for the army. Then Braniac will take control of them.

I doubt we'll see Lex suited up

Then that just shows
Lex
should be in the next film.

Batman will be in the Man of Steel sequel.

Superman took flight again this summer in "Man of Steel," which has so far taken in over $280 million in the US and over $620 million worldwide, making it the #2 movie at the box office for 2013 ("Iron Man 3" sits securely at the top spot). Naturally, Henry Cavill is set to step into the character's red boots again, but at the Comic-Con today, there was surprising news that he'll be joined by another caped superhero.

Batman will team up with Superman in the next movie, The Hollywood Reporter and the Los Angeles Times confirmed Saturday morning. "Man of Steel" director Zack Snyder and screenwriter David Goyer (who also worked on "The Dark Knight" series) will return for the film expected to be released in 2015. Christian Bale, however, is not expected to return as the Caped Crusader.

There was speculation that Warner Bros. would follow "Man of Steel" with a "Justice League" movie that would bring together all of the major heroes from the DC Comics world, including Wonder Woman, but that has been pushed back. Instead, they will follow the Superman/Batman team up with a movie for the super-speedy hero The Flash in 2016, and follow with "Justice League" in 2017.

This will be the first time the two biggest names in DC Comics will share the big screen, but it almost happened once before over a decade ago. After the embarrassing "Batman & Robin" in 1997, several reboots of the Caped Crusader were proposed, including "Batman vs. Superman." Director Wolfgang Petersen ("Air Force One") was attached to a script by "Seven" screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker that would have pitted the two against each other, but that project was eventually scrapped for Christopher Nolan's "Batman Begins."

Batman and Superman, who partnered up in the comics under the title "World's Finest," will have another superhero team to watch out for when they hit the screen. Marvel's "The Avengers 2" has already been announced to open that same year on May 1, 2015.

UPDATE: Director Zack Snyder officially announced that Batman will indeed appear in his follow-up to "Man of Steel." He revealed a logo for the movie that combines Superman's "S" shield (yes, we know it's not an "S") with the Bat-symbol, which notably looked different than the one in Christopher Nolan's trilogy. They also used a quote from Frank Miller's groundbreaking graphic novel "The Dark Knight Returns" where Batman and Superman engage in a fight to the finish. Batman says, "I want you to remember my hand at your throat. I want you to remember the one man who beat you." So we can assume that the two icons won't be getting along in the new movie. Henry Cavill is definitely returning, as are Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane, but Batman has yet to be cast.

Ugh, why cant they just build this world and introduce this version of superman before they bring in anyone else? That's what was great about Dark Knight.

Mainly because it is hard to sell people on a world that has a need for a "Batman" when you have someone like Superman. I much prefer Batman, but in a world with characters Superman, Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel, and The Martian Manhunter, you really don't need a rich boy dressing up as Dracula.

There is that. Batman vs. Superman ain't a fair fight either, seeing that the former can do shit like fly with light speed or whatever. A blink and Superman's ripped through Batman's rubber suit. Of course, for movie's sake they probably won't make it that easy, :wacky:.

superheroes; idgi.

I'm not even remotely surprised by this, they need something to compete against The Avengers sequel that's also coming out in 2015. The question now is who's going to get cast as the new caped crusader?

Actually, there was a Superman/Batman film scheduled to be out back 2007, IIRC. It ended up not going anywhere, and we got Superman Returns and Batman Begins instead.

^. That, and honestly if some of the planned Superman movies for the early to mid 2000 ever got released I dont think batman begins and man of steel would have ever happened.
