There's still a few teething issues with Steam, but it looks like they are finally sorting out the problems. I managed to get the Steam version up and running, and utilize the one-time passcode to enable cross-system sharing ... and indeed, the game looks absolutely stunning.
Do give it a go if you were unsure (or didn't have the space) on mobile. The gameplay is decent, the story is ok, there are lots of jobs and features that are still being rolled out, and you can easily make your way as a free-to-play user.
In celebration of the Steam version there are lots of login bonuses (including Summon Cards!), and they have universally increased the amount of Skill Seeds obtainable per Card level, within special Regions, and across the board. Grinding out your jobs should be a heck of alot easier.
Speaking of jobs, the upcoming FFVII collaboration event has undergone a change. It looks like they have finally listened to all the fans complaining about the US versions major annoyance at locking the Super Jobs behind a paywall every month.
They have now stated that Cloud First Class will be available within the normal card summon pool (3* or 4* summons) as a PERMANENT fixture, with a small chance to obtain him while doing the previously mentioned summon. Definitely a step in the right direction. They developers / marketing team were crazy to think that people would keep spending the equivalent of £85 - a month! - on the next better Super Job. Here's just hoping that this isn't a bait-and-switch, and the chance to actually obtain the job isn't ridiculously small to make people spend the £85 anyway, lol.
Anyway, go install and play and get ready for the VII collab event. I can't wait for it to land.
