Mobius Final Fantasy (formerly "Mevius Final Fantasy")

I didn't actually capitalise "Weapons" in the article, I'm just teasing Shademp :awesome:

I kinda suspect that they've had this version of DIAMOND on hand for quite some time, and decided to use it for Kingsglaive since they had this new concept available, and wanted to test it out for audiences.

On another note, holy crap they made Emerald scarier! ;-;

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's not a fan of Diamond's dynamic sprinting pose. :awesomonster:

I really dig the designs aside from that, and it's cool that all of the Weapons are addressed as such, and it'll be interesting to see how much of that Omega/Chaos from DoC gets maintained in the Remake.

Lots of cool stuff coming out of this event to be sure.

Well, if nothing else, it's yet another re-emphasis that the Compilation isn't being ignored for the continuity of FFVIIR. I mean, damn, at this point, it's been over 11 years since the game featuring Omega came out. A game that is effectively out of print since it's two-and-a-half console generations old at this point, and SE hasn't felt inclined to sort out the licensing issues for it in order to bother with a digital re-release.

Yet they're still incorporating Omega in this cross promotion -- and that tells me all I need to know.

Ah! I came across the artist for the Ultima Weapon just the other day on tumblr and thought it was just awesome fanart at the time. Thought the style was very Mobius like. Should have scrolled through the blog and noticed the other cards.

Ultima weapon looks like a cross between DC's Galian Beast and AC's Bahamut Sin. Ruby and Sapphire look awesome.

I see I'm not the only one who was reminded of Bahamut Sin from AC. And it looks a bit bull-like in the face; not really seeing the Galian Beast though.
God these look so awesome.

I think my favorite designs is Sapphire's, Emerald's and Diamond's. Sapphire looks pretty terrifying out of water :awesome:

I was looking at the Silver/Red colour scheme. I guess I remembered it a bit different than how it is...

Has the English version had the FFRK event yet with Tyro appearing?

So it turns out that I've been playing on the Korean server for all this time lol I don't want to switch to Europe as I've seen people complain about losing their progress when they have done so and I have a maxed out SOLDIER 1st Class job I don't want to lose. Everything but the news is in English which is why it took me forever to figure it out

Also WoL and the Buster Sword:

I had no idea the cutscenes for the Sephiroth scenario were so extensive. It's impossible for me to keep up with all these crossovers and mobile games.

- Chapter 1
- Chapter 2
- Chapter 3

The scenario is titled "Fatal Calling". Maybe it refers to the calling of the Reunion? Far as I can tell, this part is not available in English yet.

- Cloud's new Omnislash, or its equivalent, has Cloud suddenly wield TWO Buster Swords at once. o___O That was...a cool, albeit confusing, surprise.

- The Nibel Mountains, in the immediate vicinity of the Nibel Reactor, are briefly visited in Chapter 2.

- The probability of Cloud getting impaled approaches 1 when Cloud is around Sephiroth. Oh well, he can just brush it off afterwards. :wacky:

- Sephiroth totally isn't adding fuel to SephirothxCloud shippers when he strokes Cloud and whispers in his ear. No sir. Definitely not.

- I wonder if the shadow/darkness effects on Cloud, when he is controlled by Sephiroth, is something we'll see in the remake.

- Without knowing Japanese, you still get the gist of the plot. Lots of "you are a puppet", "despair", "Reunion", "you're not even human" and then Cloud triumphs. A retelling of Sephiroth mindfucking Cloud, so nothing surprising there. The two Buster Swords were surprising though.

I quite enjoy this "remaster" of the familiar, top-down Northern Crater field map.

If the remake wasn't more or less around the corner, I'd appreciate an HD remaster that made the field maps of FFVII look like the example above.

I've never paid a whole lot of attention to this game, but holy shit, this conversation between Wol and Gilgamesh is probably the funniest fucking thing I've ever seen in a Final Fantasy:

I came across it while looking for a translation of that "Fatal Calling" event that featured Cloud and Seph. As Shady speculated, the calling in question was the Reunion. More to the point, the premise is that it takes place in their personal timelines before the Reunion.

Unlike Cloud's appearance in Tactics, and his and Sephiroth's joint appearance in Dissidia/Dissidia 012, I'm not sure when -- if at all -- FFVII's narrative would allow for Cloud and Seph to have gone to Palamecia prior to that point in the original FFVII. This may be a cameo that has to be treated as "just for fun."

Lovely dialogue in that scene. Too bad the English WoL performance remains shockingly bad. It sounds like something recorded by a novice using low-quality equipment.

This post made me realise that I hadn't considered 'wol ' might come from reading the initials of 'warrior of light' as a word

Ive enjoyed the battle tower dialogue between wol and guest cameo characters but after seeing the last English video from the first ffvii event I'm scared to listen to more English wol

What does Voice (Vox?) sound like? That's one of my favourite voices in the Japanese version and if they killed that too I'd be mildly sad

Edit; I just remembered that voice's Japanese actor is actually dissidia's warrior of light and now I'm like, are you doing a Thing square or are you just reusing actors (like fujiwara being garland in mobius and Reno in ffvii)

iirc in the first FFVII event there were little text conversations between WoL, Echo and Cloud where they discussed whether that Cloud was the 'real one' or not. I can't seem to find any videos that show the text convos and now I'm mad that I didn't screencap the crap out of the event. I believe it was left ambiguous in the end (I can't remember the exact phrasing, whether they believed he may be a memory or replica made just for Palamecia or something similar, ugh).

He's a lot better than WoL but anything is better than WoL :P (I kinda like Vox's voice. It's tolerable unlike WoL or the Moogles imo)

Edit: Found a walkthrough of the FFVII event. Gonna have to watch them all because I can't remember where exactly that scene takes place (if it even does and my memory isn't playing tricks on me lol). Link to video playlist for anyone interested. Warning - the videos are mainly battles which may or may not be tedious to watch. Depends on whether you like to watch others play I guess.

At first I thought this was Minerva, then I thought it was Cosmos... Then it looked like a mesh of the two...? XP

I have not found the same image on the Japanese Twitter for Mobius. No idea who this is supposed to be.
