I noticed that everybody's expected number of shards for tomorrow is exactly the same (9, or 18 if the dig succeeds). That's something of a problem if you're trying to catch up with players ahead of you!

A word on the end of the game, which isn't too far away: because it would be dull if everybody escaped on the final day to bank their shards, I'll evacuate everyone automatically at the end of day 30. This evacuation won't let you pick up any of the left-behind shards, and if you get knocked out on day 30, you'll have nothing to bank anyway.
