Shouldn't that monster actually be :pokemon : ?
:pokemon:
founded on fb. if it's true, i know what GLD will chose
Some of them were genuinely trying to separate people from Pokemon, believing it to be for their own good since then people wouldn't be using them for battles. These well intentioned members however ignored that most of the Pokemon they were "freeing" didn't want to leave their trainers, and apparently had never looked at a single Pokedex entry since they seemingly didn't realize that in the wild Pokemon STILL fight, the difference being that in the wild they are killed and eaten instead of knocked senseless and taken to the Pokemon Center for healing.
And the majority of them were evil bastards just like usual. We got outright physical abuse of a Pokemon on screen from some of these guys. Boss man Ghestsis' real plan was to make everyone give up their Pokemon so he could effortlessly conquer the region. with all the mons he kept for himself.
And Ghestsis could have gotten away with it too if it weren't for some meddling trainer snoobing around influencing his adoptive son that humans and pokemon can live together.
But yeah in the pokemon fandom there is a big reason why Ghestsis is hated on the same scale as Hojo.
Well, that and beating the stuffing out of his team. Especially his Hydreigon, in the sequel his monster dragon is several levels lower and has a much less effective move list. I like to think that, at least in MY game, its because MY Hydreigon Dragon Pulsed his so hard it never got back up and he had to get a new one.
And yes, I know that sounds like exactly the sort of thing that'd getPoke-PETAthe genuinely altruistic Team Plasma grunts on your ass, but its firmly established that Pokemon raised by a genuinely bad, abusive trainer go bad themselves so meh. I do so wish they'd let me tell Ghidorah to Crunch the guy giving the orders once his team is down and out though.
He's all but tied with Cipher for most evil and despicable human monster in the franchise. Cipher. All of them. The people who were abducting people's Pokemon and subjecting them to mind rape to turn them into sociopathic monsters with new powers they couldn't control and thus hurt themselves every time they used a Shadow attack. Yeah, beating Ghetsis down feels good.
Good thing he became nonfunctioning in the sequel because that man really deserved to loose his mind after what he tried to pull especially the fact he was willing to freeze/or murder a child in cold blood.I also note the fact that Ghetsis's Hydreigon knows Frustration at full power. The move frustration gets stronger the more the pokemon dislikes his trainer. If you think about that that means that Ghetsis could be very abusive towards his pokemon which makes him an even bigger phony and an extremely vile person.
I also heard a theory around the pokemon fandom that Ghetsis might have planned to kill N when he was no longer useful. Its never implied in the game but I have a feeling and wouldn't be surprised if Ghetsis was actually thinking of killing his adoptive son.
With all the stuff that Ghetsis has done it makes one wonder how evil the next main villain will be.
X and Y. Really now? No thanks. Pokemon has never been worth my money anyway. I lost interest after Gen 2.
A female Team Boss would be pretty cool in my book. Not even gonna guess at an overall theme until we have more info, at the very least the types of the version mascots would be useful to know. Albeit the red one looks like a flying dragon, but I just can't imagine a version exclusive legendary that's 4X weak to Ice. But then Ho-oh had a 4X vulnerability to Rock, so why not? I will say Life and Death seems like a pretty hefty theme for a kid's game. It'd probably fly in Japan, but the localization team would flip their shit.
True, hell Adventure Time can get away with "Jake, I'm pregnant!" these days. Getting crap past the radar is an art form that many have become very good at these days. But yeah, you should see the opinion of the old localization guys on the subject of Cyrus' pseudo-religious "I shall become god!" rants from Platnium. That shit got toned down a LOT for the English release.
So, Pokemon games have taken place in Kanto, Japan. Johto (AKA the Kyoto region), Japan. Fukuoka, Japan. Hokkaido, Japan. Orre, the analogue to Nevada, US. The Analogue to California US in the other gamecube game, Unova, the Analogue to New York/ New England, US.
And now PARIS FRANCE, or its Pokemon equivalent.
D'you know, I was thinking that myself?
There's currently a theory going around on TV Tropes that Xerneas the trio (quartet?) master to the Swords of Justice, similar to how Lugia is considered the trio master to the Kanto Legendary Birds. Also does anyone else think Xerneas looks a bit too much like Keldeo in a way? I do like the Princess Mononoke comparison now that its been pointed out though.
