I don't dislike Denzel; to me, he's just an orphaned boy adopted by Cloud and Tifa, who really idolizes Cloud. That's all fine and dandy to me.

The thing that disappoints me is that the story is going to be nothing new, unless they are expanding Case of Denzel. I rather see more of what's going on in two years, rather than after the pillar fell and Denzel's adventures there after.

I really think they could have done something better - perhaps a sneak peek to see what was up (or down) with Genesis' release from his water/Lifestream prison below the ruins (of Midgar)... We could still get that, I guess, but... Eh - I am trying not to get my hopes up.

I mean, come on, they released Genesis, so what's his goal now?! To save the planet? Kind of late, as it's been 'saved' three or four times already! And Denzel, unless he's going to replace Cloud in the future, is - there.

They probably haven't even thought that far ahead for the Compilation or are waiting to show it in a more suitable way.

Hell, this *is* supposed to be focused on AC, so I'm glad they're sticking to it. And again, Denzel is the character who needs the most exposition so far, and seeing his past would make him less of a random kid who just happened to wander to Cloud and Tifa.

Yeah, Cloud's quarrel was never with Genesis; it was always only with Sephiroth. Does Cloud even remember who Genesis is after all this time? He may not for all we know. Or he may, but not really think much of him. I guess it all depends on how much the grunts were all really allowed to know during that time period in CC or if they were just fighting an enemy purely because they were ordered to with no knowledge of who it really was.

And sure Cloud was in Modeoheim, but that was many years ago now and he could have forgotten. I'm sure he remembers Zack killing Angeal above all else. Also don't forget that when Cloud encounters Genesis next he is a vegetable. lol

That being said it's still possible for Cloud to be the protagonist in another story about Genesis but I'm not sure if having such a conflict have anything to do with AC would be appropriate.

If anything I will find it interesting to have an outside view of what is happening in FFVII. I found it really interesting to read about all of Denzel's experiences and thinking, "Oh yeah, this is happening at this point in time in the game's story!"

I dunno I find it amusing.
