Not to sound like a bah humbug here(which I probably am since I had such a sucky weekend), and the trailer is amazing, and I'm quite surprised Square has even showed a new trailer(much less a gameplay-which I knew would change since they said so earlier this year-) of the FFVII remake, but I definately know now this is the last FFVII title they're ever making, because this is a Reboot written all over. Plus, Barret never wore sunglass in the original or any of the other titles.
This is one more reason for Square to mentally say, "New title to Compilation of FFVII is scrapped and remake of Before Crisis plans all trashed."
Nope, sorry, but to me, I'm not looking forward to this at all. I'll stick to the original and the Compilation thank you, and just continue to wait for KH3.

Yeah, if the Remake is a big financial success that would make it fare more likely for there to be an impetus to make more FFVII spin-off titles, than for it to have a negative effect on the potential of new FFVII content being created.

It'll definitely make more than enough money to fund a remake of every compilation title. 
Every person will buy this game. Like... every person. I don't think it'll be unreasonable for them to continue it until it's 25th anniversary, which would, undoubtedly be a big event. Maybe even a BC remake would be unveiled then. *shrug*
Also, did anyone else notice the logo and that they didn't give it a fancy new latin name or anything? Updated but same logo, with just a small REMAKE beneath it.

It's probably just me but I feel like the sunglasses were rendered differently? A part of me wonders if it's doing the Lightning Returns trailer thing, where the sunglasses aren't actually part of his character design but an optional accessory.
Otherwise the new stoic attitude+ glasses makes me feel like he's summoning the spirit of Rude.

Like I said earlier... I think working with FFXV's engine probably will speed up this remake's production exponentially, and maybe even subsequent remakes. *Wink*
I'm actually excited for what they plan on doing for the Summons, especially Knights of the Round.
Also looking forward to earning Omnislash at the Gold Saucer (I'm betting the slot system will be similar to what Crisis Core had).
They might even implement other gimmicks and extras tying in the other games, even Dirge and the Deepground.
Having Genesis as a bonus boss wouldn't hurt either. :3
Will be interesting to see Red XIII and Cait Sith playable as well (and Vincent and Yuffie of course).

Pretty darn cool! Biggs, Wedge, Jessie, and Barret all look amazing.
Cloud looks... weird.
I wasn't expecting the lip sync to be very good, but it's still a shame to see that the mouths don't match. Especially when the voice actors give such good performances (Barret!). It just takes you out of the moment. If they can't sync the mouths in few cutscenes in a trailer there's no way they'll be able to do it for the game.
Can't say I'm thrilled about the new battle system.
Mixed feelings. It's going to take a lot to erase all the bad memories of the compilation. This is close but not quite enough to earn my trust.

The success of this title will definitely result in more FFVII titles. They might move away from those being about Genesis, but they'll still 3+ years later so as to not fully conflict with Advent Children at least. Won't be a true reboot.

What I want know is if they're going to use either Mandy Moore, Mena Suvari, or Andrea Bowen as Aerith Gainsborough and either Christy Carlson Romano or Mae Whitman as Yuffie Kisaragi for the remake. That's my question at least...

The trailer was a double edged sword for me
All the content was amazing. I LOVED Barret's look. The sunglasses were perfect. I LOVED Cloud's look. I liked the combat and pretty much everything they showed.
However the trailer itself was choppy and put together pretty poorly with an uninspired remix tune.
The dialogue felt wooden, but its obviously early and its probably something they threw together just for this trailer.
Again this looks amazing - I cant imagine it looking much better, especially this early.
The only thing that has me worried is I didnt not care for that remix of 'Bombing Mission' at all. Felt like it had no soul.

I really like the look of the characters. Better than I would've expected. Barret especially. Can't wait to see the upgraded versions of the particularly large cast of characters the OG had.
I find the various differences intriguing too, in a "how much has the game changed?" kind of way. Some could just be an in-trailer thing, and not kept during the game, like the guardian scorpion on the train. Granted, I could see such changes adding to the tension. It seemed to be presented as a menacing thing in the trailer, so maybe it stalks you or something

Re: Guardian Scorpian on the Train, I think if you watch closely enough, you can see how it kinda falls down in the reactor onto the catwalk... because the scene is preceded by the train, it's kinda misleading. Cause yeah, I don't think they'd change some story bit like that too much.

Could not disagree with you more. That's absolutely not how Square operates.
Not only would the renewed interest in the setting make it the perfect time to expand the Compilation even further, but the large-scale production of assets for this title would make it wasteful not to do so.
They will tent-pole Remake with other media -- in fact, they already are with Cloud in Smash and the Mobius collab.
The chances of HD Before Crisis / Crisis Core are higher than ever. They have an engine, and they have assets. The chances of them doing a sequel are quite high, I would say, if only because they're in the process of spending millions of dollars and thousands of man hours to produce resources that will be easily reusable.
