Portal 2

Depending on how the online works, that might be as simple as using a different profile on your PS3 to sign in as a 'new' player.

Has to be online, not split-screen. People with xboxes have been just making new gold accounts with 48-hour trials. PS3 seems a bit easier because online profiles are free. PC will be the tricky one.

I loved that part.

Most of Cave's lines are absolutely amazing. I love all the ones that end up with him firing people.

I also have to admin that I purposefully died on the final battle a few times just listening to the corrupt personality cores. Oh my god, they're fantastic: Space Personality Core (FULL), Adventure Personality Core (FULL), & 'Factual' Personality Core (FULL).

I was secretly hoping that you'd get to attach GLaDOS to the gigantic potato battery in the science experiment area.

The space core was hilarious! and I love how if you listen to the adventure sphere past a certain point (the whole witty comeback) it actually happens once you beat him.

Yeah, but PS3 and PC accounts can co-op together. I have the PS3 version and the PC copy, so I can just use my other PSN account to Co-Op as a new player to get myself/ someone else the Master/Newbie trophy.

An interesting image someone made, detailing their symbolic understanding of the plot

And now my suspicions
I get the feeling Chell is intended to be the Daughter or Granddaughter (This latter one is more likely, though I could see the special materials Chell pinched for her project being moonrocks) of Cave and Caroline. She's definitely the daughter of a scientist at Aperture (Note the 'materials from dad's research' on her potato's triptych), and she survived the Take your Daughter to Work Day which is implied to have "ended badly." Now, TYDTWD was well before the TYCTWD which is how Glados got her hands on Deadly Neurotoxin (possibly again) and killed everyone in the facilities but Doug and the testees.

So here's what I figure- Glados is Activated on TYDTWD. A Young Chell survives. Her dad is not so lucky. Aperture, as is standard, just seals off the area and pretends like it never existed. Chell, naturally, gets pissed about this. Tim passes. Chell grows up. She goes back. Gets a job/ volunteers in order to try and take down Glados/ Aperture. She's rejected but as per her tenacity, doesn't give up. Then the TYCTWD thing happens. Some time later, around the time of HL1, Portal 1 happens. Then, an unspecified amount of time later, Portal 2. Possibly a very long time, but the field at the end makes me think it's only been a couple decades at most rather than centuries. That could change.

Also, the ending song is song from a mother's perspective to her child.

All I know for absolute certain is is that it needs more Rick.

Yeah, I got the whole greek thing once I saved teh turret from being killed and he said somethign along the lines of promethius being punished by being eatten by a bird. I then thought of glados being eaten by a bird when she's a potato.

I completed it last night and absolutely loved it. The non-testing areas were refreshing and managed to throw me out of my lab comfort zone, which I thought was a great touch. Some of the puzzles nearly gave me a stress-induced stroke, though I suspect this is because I have the wrong kind of brain for a game like this.

The script writing was utterly hilarious, particularly Cave and potato!GlaDos (/slowclap "Oh good, that still works."). I don't know why people are getting in a tizzy about the ending music because I thought it was awesome. Speaking of the ending, omg +9000 to Valve for making me feel bad for GlaDos having emotionless emotions.

Basically...

fap.

I'll see your Portalios and raise with

This just makes me dissapointed no one's done the really obvious AssCreed 2/ Nintendo crossover jokes. Or that I've not found them, anyways.

Inter- yeah, the Prometheus one was obvious ASAP, but for me what's interesting is that Valve took it and twisted it. Pandora unleashes the evils from the box by putting Epimetheus in power, but Epimetheus takes Pandora and Prometheus and slams them in the box and thus they are the hope that remains.
Still think their ideas on the co-op bots are a stretch, of course.
Also, no comment on the parentage/ timeline hypotheses?

Speaking of stress-induced strokes,
This is the part that got me.

After an agonizingly long time wracking my brain, after getting to the first upper section, I just looked through the railing, and painted the whole area on the tower across where I'd come from with White portal goo. I found that the platform sticks out to the right just a little bit farther from the top. I put a portal over to the side, and jumped off the tower and fell back to the bottom level, into a portal, and the momentum was enough to portal throw myself up to the new area, but I felt like this wasn't the way it was 'supposed' to have been done (and apparently it wasn't). :awesome:

Finally picked this up today and absolutely love it. It has by far the best and most absorbing introduction to any game since Mass Effect 2 and the gutting of the original Normandy.

I'll be your Co-Op buddy, Slicery. Because I care.
And need Co-Op achievements myself.

Its not that bad. The only real one that can be difficult is
the one where you need to navigate around the spiked corridors with one person controlling the excursion funnel direction

Oh god that one. Ya, I imagine it'll be practise practise and then finally one perfect go.
