Yoko Nakajima, an unhappy high school student, is one day suddenly faced with a strange man who swears allegiance to her. After a battle with demon-like beasts, he then takes her to another world along with two of her classmates. There, her appearance has changed and she can understand the language even though her classmates cannot. But their status as "Kaikyaku" (people who come from Earth) makes them hunted fugitives, so they wander the land of the 12 countries, simply trying to survive and to figure out the reason why they were brought to this world.

If and when you watch it, skip the dub. You might already do that as a habit, I dunno. But the dub is not good.

Um, if you couldn't guess it already: Vampire Hunter D. Keep in mind I'm a total fangirl so that you should approach it with more....sanity. I totally love it though.

@ Dacon, I recommend Elfen Lied! I love it and imho had a really awesome storyline (as well as being very depressing and downright gory at times, but not overly so). It's only 4 volumes but it's great. I also fully recommend Karas as well. OMG, imho that one was amazing it really was. You may like it ^^.

In general, I also recommend Chrono Crusade, Steel Angel Kurumi, and the 5th and final season of Sailor Moon, "Sailor Stars". Srsly, Sailor Stars had a great plot, more characters, darker tone, hell even a new theme song for the opening LOL!

Btw, Mononoke is actually a 12 episodes spin-off of the "Bakeneko" arc from the anthology series Ayakashi - Japanese Classic Horror. Amazing artwork is amazing it's all I can say.

I'm searching for something worth watching, myself, since I kind of lost track on pretty much everything this year, 'cept maybe for Bonen no Xamdou. This was pretty interesting at the very begining actually, but as the story progressed got worse.

Samurai 7 is good shit.
