Remake article ideas/organising

If we ever manage to get a review copy, I will fly to your houses and murder you all to be the one to do it. Legit. I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking that XD (if I am I deserve it more, criminal logic).

Which is why if there's only one, it's going to be assigned by random lottery amongst the writers XD.

And yeah a giveaway etc. would be awesome to do.

Kinda silly to be thinking about this stuff so early, but let's be silly: if we only get one review copy, Shademp and I live pretty near to one another and could play it together. He'd be noticing millions of tiny details that would fly over my head while I focus on the gameplay. Sweden and Scotland aren't so far away either. :monster:

Yeah but the Swedish won their independence 300 years before us Americans. So if you think about it... the two aren't related at all.

Actually I like this idea. We could coordinate and just all meet in one place and review it together. oooooooooo

The problem is review copies these days are usually just "review keys" you redeem in the store.

Currently writing it actually. Because E3 has made me a night owl again. :wackymonster:

Also looking for a decent source on the initial PS2 remake rumors. There is one tiny news article I have found on Gamespot but I don't see any source except them saying "yeah Square totally said that".

Edit: Okay, I'm getting somewhere with this. Digging through all these news from 2001 is certainly a blast from the past. :awesome:

We should aggregate some opinions on the various "what would you like to see" threads and write an article on the feasibility of some ideas. I'd be down for one.

My plan is to discuss them first in a podcast and then publish the full results (with forum names redacted) on the front page. I'll be at home with my brother from 26/06 to 01/07, and I'm sure he wouldn't mind me recording something on one of those evenings. In fact, I'll probably ask him to help me pick out some interesting answers. :)

If we can't get a podcast organised for then, I'll pre-record my segment.

The research is driving me crazy. I wanna try and include as many mentions/rumors of the remake as possible and I'm doing a google search literally month by month but already I stumbled upon forum posts where people are like "oh, Nomura said this and that" and I'm like 'fuck I remember this but it didn't come up during my research' and then I need to go back and find that piece of information/interview and aaaaaaaagghhff

I was just looking for that quote where Kitase said it would take 5 years and 300 people to do a remake because somehow I completely missed it but I totally remembered that being a thing. Turns out, it was very shortly after the tech demo release and it's from an issue of EGM. No wonder it was hard to find since it's from a print media source. >.>

I only found forum posts quoting it and those seemed to have gotten it from wikipedia which referred to that EGM issue as a source in the first place and that article has long since been gone or altered, so...yeah. :awesomonster:

Damn print media. :shifty:

It's funny because I'm not coming across that many rumors. :huh:

The article is mostly a long summary of Square-Enix's endless teasing and bullshit excuses.

And man, did they bullshit back in those days.

"We remake it if it's possible within a year but actually it would take ten years, so..."
Yeah, remember that shit? :P
