The best, you say? I like the sounds of that
I've played every Mario Kart except for the gameboy one, Super Circuit (only because I didn't have a gameboy advance). Out of them all, I really enjoy MKWii the best. I love how they've been including twice as many courses by remaking the older ones. Also, I love using motorcycles.
I like the 3DS version too but it's still a small screen, and I prefer to play games on big screens if I can.
If I do finally get MK8, I might have to take you up on that offer.
I've never played MK online before, but it would be loads of fun to play with someone I know.
(Side note: Oooh you've never played Twilight Princess? I hope you enjoy it when you do; it's honestly one of my favorite Zelda games. I consider it on par with OoT!)
The Wii version I'm most familiar with next to MK8. Playing online is
sort of fun. Human players are devious little shits - they'll take your boxes deliberately, they'll strike you out of spite quicker than the person who is ahead [backwards attacks], and they know every single shortcut
There's a score rating where you gain points the better you do, and you start off at 1,000. My friend has approx. 10,000 points, so when I play with him [and at his house I'll thus be at the standard 1,000] I have to compete with players that have somewhere in the 8,000-30,000 range
But when I played from me own house a while ago, and everyone averaged about 1,000-1,500 no more, I was able to win most races
And, yes, I can't wait to play Twilight Princess. I loved OoT and Majora's Mask, finding it way too difficult to prefer one over the other, and now it seems like Wind Waker may give them some competition on that!
Twilight Princess' spectacular combat has actually made it difficult for me to go back to OoT. It's just so satisfying. And the fact that Link does a flourish whenever you sheath your sword after defeating one of the "main" enemies is just such an awesome touch.
*sheepishly*
Any of you talking about Mario Kart, especially if you don't have a Nintendo system, have you played Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed? Despite the absurd title, it is actually fantastic and if you have it for PS3 I would love to play it with you.
I haven't, but I briefly touched on Diddy Kong racing a few years back, which was pretty good if I recall right.
I haven't played it, but it's good to know there are still decent karting games beyond Mario Kart, which I've always felt has been just a touch overrated. Don't get me wrong, they're good games, but I still maintain that Crash Team Racing was and is better than any of them.
It is
the best racing game! I had the fortune of finding the PS3 hooked up in the sitting room before heading to work on Sunday, and the spare time to squeeze in two races. Sadly, after a year of not playing, I couldn't drift around Papu's Pyramid as well as I used to, but I still won the races
It has Rayman Legends syndrome - fucking amazing but gloriously underrepresented.
Rayman Legends is fantastic! Played it fully through 2-player with a friend this year. If that's the comparison we're talking here, I'll have to take a look in
Just a side-note on the Wii U's gamepad. I thought it was awkward too, at first, but I've come to find it easy to use, as well as enjoy the integration of content between TV screen and the gamepad screen. Bonus points for games (like Wind Waker) that you can play like a handheld game, chillaxing in bed all the while
