Sephiroth: What the fuck happened?

Sephiroth definitely wouldn't have had a relationship. As for sex, I could see it going either way. (ha ha ha) By that I mean I couldaccept him having had it, but at the same time I could easily accept that the closest he ever came was pushing that sword of his through Aeris.

Then of course there's the possibility that the jokers have been right all along and that the Masamune is one huge compensation measure and he would be far too embarrassed to let a woman see what's beneath the leather. :monster:

Then, pretty much every 1st Class Soldier had that "little" problem.

I can see him falling in love with someone, though I definitely don't see him doing the whole dating thing.

And if he never had sex, then we have an explanation for Nibleheim... :monster:

Perhaps Sephiroth is too big. After all, by his own admission:

Sephiroth on his pen0r said:
Ever since I was small I felt I was different from the others...

And on that note, I shall chastise myself for contributing to the spamming of this thread, let's try to keep the conversation at least slightly intelligent ^_^
Oh, and V, as for Sephiroth not caring about consent after he snapped, he didn't really have time by that point. He was killed very soon after snapping, and by the time he came back he was interested in bigger and better things (not to mention he didn't have a bottom half to his body for awhile :wacky:)

Angeal at points seems the most "normal" in that he bonds easily with Zack and seems rather well liked. He definitely seems the most well adjusted of the three SOLDIERS, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if he had pursued a relationship in the past - or at least had the drive to.

I'd be money on Angeal having had a relationship of some sort sometime in his past. He doesn't seem the type for random flings, but the guy didn't die a virgin either, I'd bet. He seemed one of the most normal, 'man's man' character in the entire series along with Cid. I could easily imagine him kicking back a few beers at the bar, going home and fixing up an old truck, and meeting a sweetheart for a date later on that day, whether it was before or after he joined the armed forces.

Whenever we see Genesis in Crisis Core he seems a bit off-balance so I'm not sure I can rightly judge how he would normally interact with others. But I'd certainly argue that Sephiroth seems to be the most aloof of the three, and that I'm far more skeptical of his libido than I am of Angeal's, and to a lesser degree Genesis'.

Genesis isn't really a people person, but I can imagine him pursuing something as well. I can imagine him in a fling too. He's a weird one, but still.

He could've used Jenova for puppet raep though, :monster:.

Cid, by the way, is a good example of why the "we never saw it" theory doesn't make a character asexual. I CBA to find the exact quote but someone in this thread said that we have no reason to believe Sephiroth was not asexual because he never showed any signs of attraction to anyone and has no history of having any relationships. This could also describe Cid in FF7, and we know Cid is not asexual because he married Shera later in the compilation.

I don't recall Reno ever showing signs of attraction to anyone and he has no relationship history. Or Rufus, Reeve, Bugenhagen, Genesis, Angeal, Shalua, any of the Tsviets (though they very well could be asexual), Zangan, Biggs, Wedge, Shera, Scarlet, Palmer, Heidegger, Dio, or the Chocobo Sage. Boy, there are a lot of asexuals in the compilation. :monster:

Actually it's pretty strongly implied that Cid and Shera had something in FF7 originally. At least I definitely got that impression. That is a good point for several of the other characters though, but then, most of them aren't as central as Cid/Sephiroth either.

Yeah, Cid and Shera were definitely bangin'.

However Sephiroth almost speaks for himself because of his personality. At least with the other examples we could infer that they may have had relationships or dated, but from what Sephiroth has displayed of himself, well, nuh uh.

That's a good point as well, Sephiroth's personality is of a solitary loner even before he goes crazy. A lot of people like that are too introverted to form sexual relationships, or at least, if they attempt to do so, they're so socially awkward that they phail at it. Appearance doesn't necessarily help in such cases either.

Dude, don't diss the Chocobo Sage like that. Wtf are you on?

But anything that FF7 gave us that may have led the sensible viewer to believe there was an attraction between Cid and Shera could easily be explained as something else. (Guilt, sisterly affection, an uncomfortable boss-underling situation...) Just ask the Valenwinds.

What about Reno? The only affection we ever see him show is toward Rude. He must be gay for him, right?

And Rufus? You're telling me with all his ego, power, and need to prove himself that he never fucked anyone, man or woman? I find that one hard to swallow.

My wording is entirely intentional. :monster:

The difference between Sephiroth and well, almost everyone else is that Sephiroth already has multiple strikes against him from the get go.

I think I missed the last page before I made my post.

Sephiroth not being able to get sex is a non-issue. I think we already determined that. The only issue is if he ever wanted to. Thus I stand by my original statement that if Sephiroth wanted sex, he got sex. I'm just not as convinced as everyone else seemed to be that he absolutely never wanted to. I think you're all giving him Jesus syndrome.

Everyone's been debating about if Sephiroth was sexually attracted to anyone but here's another thought. Let's say he had a libido. Do you think he would have a preference? Men, women, or would it not matter? Would he feel more comfortable with one gender over the other? Or would sex just be sex no matter what?

It all entirely speculative but its hard to tell with him.

That would depend, like with everybody else.

Oh I agree. I commented on that on the last page; I'm sure he did at one point, for whatever reason.

As an aside, I think everyone is mixing up sex (or the desire to have sex) with romance/relationships, Two different tihngs.

If appearances were the only factor in getting laid then yeah, Sephiroth wouldn't have a problem getting laid if he wanted it. In my experience women seem to want more than just a hot body even when they're just hooking up for casual sex, and if a person gives off the wrong impression that'll be a complete turnoff no matter how they look. What I've seen of Sephiroth's interactions with people even before he goes crazy indicates that his social skills are rather... lacking; in fact he comes across as almost autistic given his apparent obliviousness to various social cues.

What leads me to suspect he may not have had the best luck with women is that people who get laid on a semi-regular basis generally don't turn into gigantic misanthropes like Seph does. I may be reading too much into this though, but then, we're probably reading too much into it by discussing Seph's sex life at all :monster:

You're very correct in normal circumstances, V, but the fault in your logic is that many (real life, anyway) women will do anything to sleep with a famous person. Sephiroth was probably more famous on Gaia than many, many people in the real world. There are a shitton of celebrities with fucked up personality traits that got more ass than a toilet seat simply because they were famous. Groupies are something else, man.

I've actually been told that even famous people have trouble getting laid if their social skills are too lacking, but I have no experience to corroborate, so you may be right :monster:

hahahaha Angeal's definitely gonna be a loyal bastard
as for Genesis, i think its possible for him. But if it's possible for Genesis, then it's even more possible for Mr Seph.

The woman (or man) who is (un)fortunate enough to get laid with Genesis will have to use a plug in her/his ears.
