Hmmm, seems like this section is just pretty dead. There are no real gfxers on the forum anymore (It was more active on ACF because of GFXers like Atem, ExMachina, Road etc) but it does seem like the section is pretty dead. I would love the SOTW to be active and successful but it doesnt seem to be viable atm, and I don't think it's because of the theme.

You could try set up a freestyle SOTW see if that has any bites but if it's not successful I don't see the point in carrying it on :/

The first SOTW as well. A lot of people said they were excited for it, and said they would enter, but none of them did. There was only one entry besides myself.

^Indeed. Unfortunately, at the moment sig making is going through a major slump. Most of the big graphic sites like NSL are dead. Ive only recently decided to take up sig making again. It's sad but maybe the SOTW is just a lost cause.

Re-read the entire section regarding people who voted for cookie monster then note how many of them are actually GFX'ers.

Yeah, imo it's an issue that's a lot to do with the community size. There just aren't enough people, which means there just won't be enough people who are willing to throw up their art a lot.
Once the forum numbers get rolling again, there's a much bigger chance of people joining. The challenge will be getting the forum numbers rolling again.

Erm me and Scott are still around and last i checked were pretty good to ,(theres more too but come on you know me and scott are the sex gods of this section )

The problem is we dont really care to much to dedicate making one sig for a competition no one else is probably going to participate in. Whats the point of trying when you can win without trying.

And yeah cookie monster, from a gfx-er point of view was a terrible choice come on.
I think we should let it go, were all to lazy since aaron infected us all with cba-itus.

Yeah, I think this section just isn't active enough right now for a SotW to really work; it worked well on ACF because the graphics section there had a good deal of regulars and had the occasional new people that would come along, too.

Maybe to drum up activity someone could dig up (if there ever was one here) / start a continue the .psd type thread where people put up unfinished tags (or maybe even just resources they've made - sort of like a .psd remix without the SotW). At least that way there'd be some sort of community activity going on, even though it still might not go anywhere due to cba-ness.

The fact that this forum currently runs with a handful of active members and only a miniscule fraction of those members even own software to make sigs makes the prospect of this comp being very slim.
You see hype from individuals who appreciate the sigs sure enough but that's all it is going to be.
Like Gabe said, including myself and him I can count with one hand how many members who do sig's.
Then again i haven't even done anything GFX related except from sketching for the past year.

All in all i think it's prob best to put the SOTW idea to rest, maybe one day if we actually get more than 5 posts in a day on the forum you could try a re-vamp.
