Posting the Japanese trailer, because it's got a VERY important clip at the end, that's not in the other teaser trailers.

What is the importance thing you're talking about, X-Soldier?

I really must see the first film of this, so I can see the second. They do look like films that would interest me. Only thing I dislike about this trailer (not sure if the first film is similar) is the visually dark appearance. Hard to describe. Maybe its made for 3D or something that is causing it.

It's the final scene, which older Star Trek fans will know is a pretty damn important moment between Kirk & Spock.

Well, it is called, Star Trek Into Darkness..... :awesomonster:

So essentially they are going to pretend to kill Spock only for him to come back later?

I'm somehow pretty sure they did that a few times earlier in the series, :monster:.

Also, looks like a decent action flick. I prefer Picard though.

I'm still not sure whether I'm more excited about this because it's a sequel to one of the greatest Trek films evar, or because Sherlock is in it :monster:

IIRC, Abrams said he deliberately didn't include a colon because subtitles are the sort of thing that people look down upon with regards to Star Trek :monster:

Oh well that makes the subtitle all better then dinnit :monster:

Doesn't...every one have a subtitle?

I'll be interested to see how it turns out. I kinda view the first one the way I did Casino Royale. A very good movie, with nice touches and callbacks here and there, but in all didn't really feel like a Bond/Star Trek film.

The subtitles with colons are probably to too unwieldy/difficult to pronounce/aesthetically displeasing, is my guess :monster: No one ever says "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan"; they always say either "The Wrath of Khan" or "Star Trek II" :monster: Of course, people are probably going to say "Star Trek XII" or "Into Darkness" instead of the full title of this film, but hey, at least he tried :monster:

On that note, I'm also with the AVGN in that I wish they never dropped the numbers. Within Paramount they always have them, every time there's a behind the scenes "Star Trek XI" or whatever is written on the ...black and white start-filming-thing, they just dropped them from the official titles.

Even still, fans may not say it, or shorten it in speech/on forums, but it still seems like something that should still be there.

Honestly, I just thought the macro was funny.

The bigger issue is how much the poster ripped off the Dark Knight Rises :monster:

I was referring to the rubble making the logo, specifically. As a commenter on facebook put it, "Boldly going where Batman has gone before." :wacky:

Still haven't seen the first ST reboot movie. I don't know if I will, but I damn sure what to watch this one.

Cumberbatch makes for a sexy villain :awesome:

I'd probably put at least First Contact and The Undiscovered Country ahead of it, myself. (I'm tempted to include the Voyage Home just because of how much damn fun it is, but I know it's a far inferior film on an objective scale.)

But you should see it, it is good. If nothing else, see it for the impeccable casting, it's remarkable how well they cast these characters.
