*sorry for double post. No edit.

I have also had to seal off the main document as it stands, and protect it, because certain people at Qhimm forum decided to steal half the work.

After March 1st, the whole document will be made public. It has some interesting finds, and some intersting corrections.

Not least, that I realised things like, Confu are named that becaue FF1 had a 4 character limit and they kept the katakana for releases afterwards. It is correctly confuse. And that they placed "ru" after certain words, like suripuru which would probably be "sleeper" rather than "Sleepel", but that was used to distinguish it from another sleep spell "Suripura" Sleepra.

Sleepel is redundant, and thus Sleep is correct.

I have been doing a ridiculous amount of research.

One of my translators has matched all the Japanese script to the english script in an excel document ready to be translated.

Why not use proper translation services like Google Translator Toolkit? It allows you to upload text, pre-translate it by pulling it through Google's own translation services, and allowing you to work with multiple people on it simultaneously (those that you invite, that is).

And making your own hex editor seems a bit redundant, considering there's plenty of those out there. Unless I'm not seeing the whole picture.

That is a very good idea...I am not sure how it will work but I will def look into this toolkit. As for the decoder, I could not see anyone who had listed the Japanese to the game hex values so I had to do it, sililar to the FF7 Text for english which is listed on a wiki page. There are no editors I know of that work with the Japanese FF7 game, probably for the same reason. I and another person worked together, he supplied me the Japanese hex, and I made a small decoder. Any case, it has gone very well and if anyone here can speak Japanese, and even if you don't want to help with main translation, perhaps you can have a look through the main document before I start the major updating in the next few days. If you want to do that, then please let me know in PM or at break-off.co.uk and I will allow you access to the document. The more Japanese speakers that look through the document the more chance of any small errors being located and changed. I will place a vote on this forum soon for the more controversial changes, that we cannot agree on.

Well..
...
I have been meaning to do a Final Fantasy Compilation on my podcast.
It would be sort of like that bonus "look at Final Fantasy" thing on the XII bonus disk, only like a few hours long and better.
Basically, I was going to go through all of the Final Fantasy games and the three movies.
There was gonna be a section on teh main games, a section on spin offs, a section on the music, and section on the art, a section on the movies, and then a wrap up that included my thoughts on FF XIII.
You guys can have it when I finish, if you would like it.

If you want any help with that, I'd be willing.

Well, it's just audio.
If I can find someone who can do video things, I'd love to add screens and videos from teh games as I'm talking.
...
I'll ask around.
but honestly, it's more of an endurance thing.
