Decided to download Blender to see if I can make 3D stuff. My cousin's partner recommended me to use the program, and he has a 3D printer, and I'm tempted to buy myself one (just not now because I am almost a hobo). If anyone has any clue about this program or whatever, feel free to say so now :monster:. I want to create and print 3D models to paint from basically. I'd be amused if it takes forever to load like that visual studio program did :P. I'll find out tomorrow :P.

Still looking at tutorials and haven't created anything yet, but saw this awesome timelapse. Probably a long way down the track for me to do this kind of thing, but I found the initial front and profile sketch thing an interesting idea to construct the model around.

Still haven't created anything, but if anyone wants me to attempt to digitally construct their head in 3D, feel free to send me three decent-resolutioned photos: front on, three quarter, and profile, all with same expression, preferably with no hair obstruction, and lighting that accentuates form (ie: no flat lighting). Just be aware I may not get around to it for months or ever, but first in first served. I'll attempt to do the first volunteer at least, so if everyone else wants to wait until after that, to see the results, I don't blame you :awesome:. That naturally means you give me permission to post the result here.

Cheers :monster:.

Printed out some of my digital life drawings and framed them (with some old cheap frames, cba matting) for an upcoming exhibition. Surprisingly cheap.

Any recommendations for a digital drawing tablet, where I can see what I'm drawing on as I'm drawing it (I'm guessing something similar to a Wacom Cintiq 13HD Creative Pen 13.3" Display DTK-1301, going by its appearance). I'm basically after something with a large screen that I can draw on, and use whatever program I like in doing so. I currently use my phone, but I feel the size inhibits me (as much as I like drawing with my finger :P). Would I need a powerful computer also? I have no clue about this shit :P. Can't imagine so. Seem to be able to do a fair bit graphically with my current setup, which I think is fairly bare bones, but seeking opinions. S'pose it would matter more if I ventured into 3D. Cheers.

Scare me :monster:. I am guessing I'm looking at low to mid 4 digit range if I'm to get something of reasonable quality.

I hear Huion is a decent tablet for it's buck. Rivals Wacom but sells at like a third of Wacom prices. I plan on making that my next purchase in fact.

Had some time today (due to coursework not being printed out in my class, so we were just literally sitting on our asses for half the day doing nothing) to do some sketches on my phone, playing around with a story of mine as if it were scenes from a film (ie: storyboarding). Just really shitty scribbles like a preschooler might do with no references to help me visualise better ways of presenting a scenario, but I do have idea for when I have the means to do such (means being "the time" :P). Trying to make use of my downtime, which there seems to be a lot of at this resource-neglected third party training institute.

Trying to visually communicate a fish out of water scenario, making rather familiar and mundane natural environments alienating in an atmospheric sense. Hopefully I can show folks something at some stage. <-- I feel like I've been saying that a lot with many of my projects, but then not following through :P. I tend to cycle through my creative projects, as I get bored with one thing, so move on the next, rinse and repeat. I feel confident I'll have the means soon to do some show and tell at least. Hopefully in the next six months :P.

I feel like this particular storyline is one of the weakest of mine thematically, and I'm barely at the "call to adventure" stage, so got quite a bit of writing to do yet, and I don't just wanna do some intellectually vapid action adventure ever again. I like the characters and the world I've developed though, which is basically what has inspired me to work with them. I have ideas for themes, just gotta work out how I'm gonna do it.

^lol. This "evolved" into something I'm still working on (likely for eternity), but haven't drawn much for yet.

Attached is a work in progress that I'm unlikely to complete. Haven't touched it for a while, but thought I'd share. May look familiar. I wished to take my airship design into the 3rd dimension. It is basically missing some shading, the back fin, and the flags, but they're the most difficult parts, and I cba :mon:. Enjoy.

I hate doing art on the computer, but that looks really cool! Wanna contribute some art to the Final Fantasy art book I'm working on? :)
