Speaking of Coach (at least someone did a bit before the escalation), don't forget Rochelle and Louis. Both black and one of them is also female I didn't think L4D when the subject of black protagonists came up for the same reason I didn't think of Barret, they're protagonists yes but none of them is THE protagonist.
I'm not looking very hard perhaps, but there's a serious amount of whitewashing going on, too. "Tanned"? Is that what defines and underlines ethnic diversity? In that picture on the last page - and Jasmine, too for that matter - is a white chick in what the media tells us is an unspecified middle-eastern female outfit.
Either I'm color blind, or a lot of racial diversity being advertised is subtle as fuck.
Well...middle eastern people are mainly tan. I don't think Jasmine should be much darker, that's a pretty appropriate shade. Don't just make an Arabian girl black so you feel better about diversity.
I think this thread is relevant re: micropayments.
EA did it again, took a classic game (Dungeon Keeper, unfortunately I never played it), ported and updated it to the mobile platform... and raped it with microtransactions.

Then again, a while ago a lot of products got 1-star ratings in Google's Play Store. The reason? One-star votes are labeled as 'relevant' and the reviews in themselves have a higher likelihood to be displayed on the app's information page. The people doing it, mostly Turkish people, just want their text response to be viewed; yet another 5-star rating is not usually deemed relevant if it's all 5-star reviews.
I was going to say sexism but that would be hypocritical of me since I love to draw Tifa and all her boobage. Wait a minute...FF7 is excluded from this discussion since it is my favorite and all of it's qualms are irrelevant.
And that's that...
On the other hand...I have to mention that I was slightly dissapointed when I read an article indicating that Lightnings breasts
had been enlarged for Lightning Returns. I mean...she wasn't incredibly flat chested in the first two games.
It's also bothersome when your favorite developers sell out or try to sponge up any form of income in whichever way possible. I thought that Advent Children was okay at best even though it (slightly) ruined my original opinion of the characters. Then there was Before Crisis...Dirge of Cerberus...Crisis Core...Advent Children Complete...wait, what? AC Complete? So the first time I bought it, it was incomplete? What the faaark...
I've lost my faith in Square Enix despite their past accomplishments. We'll see how epic FFXV is after fifty seven years in development. There may still be hope for them yet...
The ridiculous overpricing of digital versions of a game. I'm not expecting drastic drops in price, but when you don't have to manufacture disks and cases, ship those disks and cases, pay for shelf space for those disks and spaces, you shouldn't be allowed to charge for those non-existent disks and cases. Even just knocking a quid or two off the price of the digital version would be nice.
When Mass Effect 3 came out, it was £59.99 on the PS Store for 3 months. That's £20 more expensive than the retail version of the game, which then dropped to £29.99 after the reviews. I honestly think they mistyped it and got confused with the North American version. It stayed like that after brand new retail versions of the game dropped to half the price. It's just crazy.
