I think a new skin would be cool. Give people a choice.

Maybe make it red, with fire, and Sephiroth's silhouette like Pixel said. Then maybe put the black materia somewhere. Yes...

Also perhaps someone would make a site announcement calling for wallpapers, then. Maybe see if there are any artists who would like to draw some original fanart for them.

The point is some people are graphics people and some people are news-getters and article writing people.

I started on a purple/black theme months ago when someone expressed a desire for one, but never cba to finish it. I also lacked inspiration for what images should go at the top, so the Sephiroth/negative Lifestream/black materia ideas might work nicely. I was basically going with the theme of my current posting color and avatar.

This is basically what I was fooling around with, and wanted to give the header graphic the same sort of glowy border as my avatar. I didn't totally like the idea of Cloud in the rain being the image, though.

Also, wallpapers. Should there be a special section of the site for them? A special gallery?

I agree with the monotony, but wouldn't really know what direction to go in color-wise without knowing what picture would be in the banner. Once we have that figured out we can pick up some of the colors in that to go with the purple.

Well I really think it would be a good idea to go with Pixels idea of focusing on the Black Materia. I had been thinking of maybe making a skin that was red and have fire with Sephiroth silhouetted against it. But maybe just the black materia will do.

That actually does look pretty sweet.

As for cool images of the Black Materia, I don't think there really are any. It only appeared in one FMV of the original game and its appearance in Dissidia isn't anything to 'gasm about.

As for the Negative Lifestream, really not much there either. Gloriosa/Midgar-Rock has some shots, though (not the best quality, but will give you some ideas maybe):

That first shot might actually look pretty cool on a banner offset by images of Meteor (Black Materia substitute?) and the Nibelheim blaze. Just a random example put together with no special effects:

Check if you can get a higher resolution version, either directly from the movie, or from that article on the front page where Mako put up bunches of images on ACC .

Sorry if my images weren't the best. I just screencapped my screen while playing the movie in Windows Media Player, then cut off everything else with Paint and saved them.

I think both a black materia and sephiroth black & red skin would be cool, because atm most skins are focusing on the black and blue colours, it'll be nice to have a sephiroth skin to give people the option of having something differen't from the norm here. Plus there are lots of sephiroth pics and stuff to use

No, because after I volunteered I realized what a bunch of douchebags the majority of the current memberbase is and lost all desire to actually put effort into creating something for the enjoyment of people who would rather troll and flame anyone who doesn't fit into their clique. Hence my lack of recent activity, also.

I suppose anyone else who feels so inclined may finish what I started with what I've uploaded. I have finals coming up, anyhow. And a slew of other things to do with my time that would probably be more rewarding.

I have to say I agree with you here, as of late there is a fare share of trolling etc going on, the forum seems a lot less active than it has been and a number of members have been jumping ship.

Tho this could also be attributed to lack of FF7 realted stuff going, considering this place was really buzzing during the time leading up to and around the release of ACC. Everything seems to be FF13 right now and while we have a thread for it, TLS doesn't cover that one.

Still, there are people like Mako, Hito, Quexy and such who are keeping on topic and contributing to the FF-based discussions.

If you've got a problem with member(s) you need to report it so we can do something about it and handle the situation appropriately. Sadly, we aren't the omnipotent warlords we'd like to be, thus we need to know what the problems are so they can be sorted. I'm sorry you've had a shitty time here with members, but rather than stating that here in an unrelated thread, you could tell a staff member or report it, and thus not only do we hear your criticism, but we can actually do something about it when it happens and thus alleviate the situation.

But yeah, we should offer fan-made wallpapers. Yop already said he liked the idea like, a million years ago. Could put an announcement on the front page when we get them done. Host them on the actual site instead of just the forums. Have a gallery for them.
