So just finished the movie.

Surely someone can explain it better than me, but why did Woody decide to leave Bonnie in the end, despite the fact that he's always, even stubbornly, been loyal to his owners?

Because he didn't want to leave Bo since he knew that if he left to stay with Bonnie, there'd be a chance Woody would never see Bo again, but was hesitating until Buzz realized that Woody always missed her and things weren't the same. Plus, Woody probably realized he's better at helping other toys find owners rather than simply making kids like Andy and Bonnie happy.

It opened at #1 with $118M, the biggest opening in the franchise, topping Toy Story 3 $110.3M, as well as being the third highest opening weekend of the year (and making the top 4 opening weekend being from Disney). However, it fell short of the studio's $140M expectations.

The movie has reached $1Billon wordlwide, making it Disney's fifth movie to reach that number this year.
Disney profit aside, it was well deserved, it was an excellent movie.
