Trace of Two Pasts novel discussion

Torrie

astray ay-ay-ay
If Cloud wasn't playing with the other kids, I wonder what his childhood self did all day.
I hc that he (a loner as he is) just walked everywhere, explored the surrounding territory, picked berries and herbs for mom, patted the Nibel wolves on the head, played an abandoned piano somewhere until he was able to repeat the melody he'd heard Tifa play again and again...

So is Cloud just listening to Tifa gush about her crush on him?
I bet he is dragging his flat ass behind, still a loner, and isn't really listening :mon:

Googled "ffvii recruitment ad" and found this

If this ad was any more 90s, it’d have “Got Milk?” on it

She doesn't, actually. She's lost in her thoughts since Barret tells her "So Midgar is the rival?".

Yes, I realised that after Audrey had posted more of her summary.
So it seems Tifa isn't confiding her long-standing love for Cloud to Aerith? Only telling her more generally about her relationships with the boys back in the village?
I'm really looking forward to reading the official translation of the whole thing and getting a feel for the nuances of what's said and what's left unsaid.

Apparently Aerith's part is a bit longer than people thought coming in at 141 pages!
I heard it's because "Picturing The Past: Investigation Unit" from "FF7R World Preview Book" is also inserted there. Meanwhile, the rest of Aerith's part is just 80 pages.

Edit- Aerith's part of the novella starts off with the party already on the boat to Costa Del Sol with their Shinra uniforms!
Oh? Then in which location does Tifa tells Aerith her past? I thought it's on the ship too.

Do you think they will adress the novel in part 2? Even if it's offscreen during their journeys, it adds a lot of depth to both characters so maybe they will adress to it in cutscenes or something. After all, they are going all in into characterization this time so cutting out this kind of content and ignoring it in part2 would feel... underwhelming?

This book feels like the script of the lifestream sequense (memories we are piecing together), and on Aerith's part, her expanded backstory, which we might be able to before you know when (maybe in the temple of the ancients?)
