So I'm conflicted about whether this movie is a good idea. The original sucked, but had a decent concept behind it, and the trailer for the sequel actually made me jizz a lil.

AT least they changed the name from T2ON

I actually loved the first movie when I was a kid. Watched it so many times it's not even funny. Watching it now, it feels a whole lot less spectacular of course though it still holds a lot of nostalgic value for me...

The idea of a sequel is getting me somewhat excited. Hope it'll turn out fine...=/

I'm excited for this movie, personally. I watched an interview (or read a blog, can't recall) and the makers of this sequel are definitely taking in critisism from the fans and molding it as close as they can to the perfect movie to follow up the original. I agree that the trailer is definitely awesome and can't wait to see how this film turns out.

As long as they're not French movies, it's ok... because if you think that movie was boring, you've never seen the usual French movies. Yep, those 'intellectual' ones that make you want to go and hang the whole cast because boring is just too weak to describe how you feel when you watch them.

I loved Tron. Then again, I was, like 9 or 10 when I first watched it. At that age, anything with pretty lights and cool motorbikes/spaceships/werewolves/etc. got an immediate thumbs up from me.

Loved the Tron 2.0 game for the PC. I hope that there'll be an update to the Tron games once this movie is out.

Seriously, I remember rumors about this movie. Some people had said it's about Jack being found alive but he's disabled or some bullshit like that. :wacky:

It was impressive what they did back then, but it has not aged well at all.

imo, it looks rather ghey. Like Johnny Quest: The Movie. I'd only watch it if the scenes in the 'game' weren't prevalent or mainly like the one shown in the trailer, and somehow I don't think this'll become a blockbuster, and will instead only attract fans of the original movie and the game.

I dunno, depending on how it's advertised it could have a fairly successful theatre run. It combines gladiators, motorcycles, and internets. all very popular things.
Plus I told my dad what it was about basically, and the first words out of his mouth were "like the matrix?", and he loves the matrix. So I'm willing to bet it'll draw in a good number who are simply interested in the idea.

Yeah, but the Matrix was awesome, very smooth CG bike rides in bland, flat environments, aren't. Imho, of course.

Tis awesome.

There's ALOT of smart choices being made with this movie. It's a sequel, getting Daft Punk to do the score, getting that guy who saved kevin spacey when he was an alien to come back.

The director's also said that he wants to remake The Black Hole if legacy goes well, which could be a great thing imo.
