User Title Colours (ALL)

I also approve of the revised TLS green, that's far more appropriate.
You keep talking about green - are you referring to the site staff colours? The one I originally suggested was "very light blue", and the new one is "vivid cyan". Just goes to show how different everyone's monitors can be, I guess.

Nope, everything is green. :monster:

Yeah, I mean the site staff titles. Also your username colour I believe. The old colour on my netbook could only be described as snot green.

Flint's current username color (and my "Site Author" title) appear for me as something of a Deepground mako blue. Or "vivid cyan" as I guess it's properly called.

is the same colour as my car, which is Calypso Green. In short, blame VW. :monster:

I'm fine with staff using their own colours for the postbit (hence why I'm using one myself) but having staff with a bunch of different global username styles in the same position is potentially confusing to people, especially new members, and I'd rather have a uniform standard.

I don't really care. Actually, why is my name yellow anyway? :P

No one ever changed it when you were made staff. Should be fixed now.

I really like my username color, but if everyone else thinks it would be tidier to have the color match the highest title's color, I'll try to go along with it without too much kicking and/or screaming :P

Edit: wait, when did my username go all grey?

I have no idea when or why this happened. Your username is still blue in your profile, and as far as I can tell you don't have a custom username colour set.

Try putting #6996AD in as your custom username colour and see if that fixes it.

Avec I might be on crack here but your username doesn't look any different to me? To me your username has always been that colour :/

If you want to set your own username colour you can do it in the User CP. What blue are you talking about?

It's definitely showing up as grey for me. I'm using the Lifestream White style set so that might be why.

Edit: having tried a bunch of style sets, it looks like the forum just strips her username colour for no apparent raisin.

I always use the default and Avec's name hasn't changed as far as I can see. It isn't being set by any of the user titles anyway.

That's exactly the problem. She wants the donator blue.

But Avec says she misses the blue implying that it once was a different colour, and to me her name has always been the colour that it is now. When I say I use the default, I mean the default forum skin. Her username hasn't changed.

In addition I just had a look and Avec's display usergroup is set as Donator blue, so I don't know why her username isn't displaying this colour.

Awwww, no more elitist ultra-dark blue eh? :P

I don't mind too much who does what with username colours, but the bold/italics/both always helped me more than colours, but that might be a personal preference. Either way, whatever system works best for folks doesn't bother me. ^_^

^^ You can always change your main name back to the right color. :P I think that color's hex code was 0000ff.

Shademp, Tetsujin and I are showing up in bold font on the cybstats list, while others aren't. Is that deliberate? Personally I think it looks better without the bold there, but it should at least be consistent :)

Donator
I missed the blue, because it used to be donator blue, and then sometime in the last day or so changed to grey for whatever unknown reason. I've just put the color code into my settings, so let's see if that fixxxxes things.

EDIT: Yes. Now my username is displayed in donator blue again. Thanks, Aaron :)

No, it's probably a result of the way I did the username style definitions (which wasn't consistent between usergroups). I'd just as soon have all the usernames that are bold elsewhere show up bold on the stats to keep things consistent across the site. I'll get on that in a bit.

Hey Aaron, how comes it that the arrow next to your name on the latest posts lists is green?

It's probably stripping out the </b> tag which is also used to close the class definition that changes the colour of links. I'll have to put in something fancy in the </b> tag so it doesn't strip it out.

I opted for the slightly more mild, "1919ff" :awesomonster:

@Aaron - is that also why the "Thanks" versions of the username remain a certain way regardless of predefined colour?

You mean, why setting your username colour doesn't affect the colour of your thanks? That's mostly because vBulletin doesn't load the data for the custom username colour anywhere but in the postbit for one's own posts. That could probably be altered by rewriting the software a bit, but it would require querying a lot more tables and probably increase overhead substantially.

<b> was also replaced by <strong> a few years ago :monster:

(Not sure if there are plans to deprecate <b> though - probably not)
