What are you listening to?

Alison Krauss & Union Station - Paper Airplane

one of the rare cases where they've played something at work that I actually liked enough to have any desire to listen to it on its own outside of work. Stevie Nicks' new album is another recent example.

I am listening to "Love is a Battlefield" by Pat Benatar and dancing like a maniac in my apartment and there's nothing you can do to stop me! Six in the morning, baby!

This sounds incredibly pretentious, but I really don't think I was old enough to fully understand this album until recently. It's so much better this time around listening to it than it ever was before. I've had the same reaction to OK Computer recently. Though in that album's case maybe I'd just forgotten how good it was.

Jackson Browne - My Opening Farewell

I wonder why Alison Krauss gender-swaps some of her covers of songs by male artists and not others. This is one of the ones she gender-swapped. At least a few of her covers of male artists on Raising Sand aren't gender-swapped.

I'm still not sure which version of this song is more morose. It's pretty clear proof that a song doesn't have to be in a minor key to be depressing.

I've been listening to the Pan's Labyrinth soundtrack for like a month. It's time to move on. D:

I just got the new (not new really) A7X album, Nightmare.

But the Pan's Labyrinth soundtrack is so much better than A7X :(

Jackson Browne - Fountain of Sorrow

Apart from political stuff, this album may have my favourite rock lyrics of all time. Rivalling even Dylan.
