Van der Graaf Generator - [H to He, Who Am the Only One CD1 #02] House with No Door

This may be my favourite VdGG song now. It's so beautifully melancholy. At least, it would have to be this, "After the Flood", or one of the tracks from Pawn Hearts. (Or "Lost" or "The Emperor in His War Room" or goddamn there are so many amazing VdGG tracks to choose from). I really need to get my hands on the original CD issues of these albums; the clipping on the remaster is pretty annoying and Clip Fix didn't recover as much range as I was hoping it would. Although some tracks, like this one, aren't that badly clipped.

Panopticon - [Social Disservices #02] Client

Intense album. It's too early to tell for sure, but this is probably going to become one of my favourite entries in his discography.

Esoteric - [Paragon of Dissonance #01] Abandonment

New album is a masterpiece, of course. No one should have expected any differently; it's Esoteric, after all.

Nah, it's their least good album probably. It's way too slick and polished.

Supertramp - Rudy.

New Esoteric is definitely more polished than most of their previous work (except TMV), but I don't think it detracts from the music's quality in any significant way. If the earlier material had been this polished it wouldn't have worked, but the new stuff is more focused on head-expanding psychedelics so it fits pretty well I think.

Maybe I have a diffrent idea of Psychedelica but the new album sounds more straight forwards than ever to me- their least psychedelic release so far imo...

Supertramp - Dreamer

Could be so. To me the new album is basically a further refinement of the direction they went in with The Maniacal Vale, which is fine with me because I loved the new direction they went in with TMV. It's quite possible that I just haven't absorbed all the psychedelic elements on their earlier records because they're not produced as clearly, though.

The No W.T.O. Combo - [Live from the Battle in Seattle #02] Let's Lynch the Landlord [3:42]

This is a great album; I just wish it wasn't so volume compressed. It's strange that it has so much volume compression because none of Jello's other releases appear to have any.
