What are you listening to?

Dawnbreaker

~The Other Side of Fear~
Tell me what you think are we in trouble?
Feelin' sorry's never really been my struggle
Pickin' up the pieces siftin' through the rubble
Ringin' in the new year listenin' to the double

Are we outside the safe spaces of love?
Are we in space pinned down to spinning rocks?

How you freeze me
We're so cold now

Tell me where you are, am I getting warmer?
You freeze me with that look when I go undercover
Readin' me my rights when you were getting closer
I resist arrest until you say it's over

Are we outside the safe spaces of sex?
Are we in space or just feeling weightless?

How you freeze me
When it's all cold now

How you freeze me
We're so cold now

Are we outside in space? (so cold, so cold)
Are we outside in space? (so cold, so cold)

The first Metal Massacre album.

At the time, all bands who appeared on this series of albums were unsigned bands, though a few went onto achieve varying degrees of fame (such as Slayer on Metal Massacre III). The first album in particular is most notable for the recording debuts of two of the most famous bands; Glam icons Ratt, and Thrash pioneers Metallica.

This album was reissued this year for 2 reasons

  1. Record Store Day.
  2. The 40th anniversary of both this album and the record label that released it, Metal Blade Records.
The release date is this Friday, but the reason it is in my possession is because Metallica (whose website I preordered my copy from) simply shipped my order early.

[CONFUSED SCREAMING]
Placebo have just released a new full length album Never Let Me Go after years of hiatus, and it's as amazing as their classics from 2003-2006. I can't single out standalone hits, the entire album is just so good to vibe with.

Here's the opening track (which I also find a nice nod to another opening title Meds)

Your post popped into my head today when I was listening to what I originally thought was a chilled-out cover of "Running Up That Hill".

Turns out it isn't. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ They don't share any lyrics, just have a similar tune, if at a much slower tempo. Regardless, I really like this song:

Wow, indeed, they do sound a tiny little bit similar. I've never heard this one before.
Thanks for recommending such a nice track, EM :properhug:

Yeah i lost my job today
And that's worth celebrating
Yeah i lost my job today
And that's worth celebrating
I ain't working no more
So credit companies - take warning

I went and blew off my mortgage today
And that's worth celebrating
Yeah, i blew off my mortgage today
And that's worth celebrating
And in 3 months they will foreclose
So for 3 months, and for free, I will be staying

And when i go, no one will know
I'll creep off like a cat, and blow off all the rest i owe
And when i go, there won't be no trail to follow
Just a lingering sense of relief
And a crap ton of empty bottles

Yeah, i went and stole my car today
And that's worth celebrating
Yeah, i stole my car
And that's worth celebrating
I ain't paying that interest no more
And this thing's steady rolling

Matter of fact, i ain't paying none of ya'll back

And when i go, no one will know
I'll creep off like a cat, and blow off all the rest i owe
And when i go, there won't be no trail to follow
Just a lingering sense of relief
And a crap ton of empty bottles
