How farcical were the Golden Ball & Golden Glove awards?

Messi? What World Cup were they watching? Rodriguez, Mueller, Mascherano, and Robben, to name a few, all had better tournaments than Messi, who once again failed to deliver on the world stage. It's as if the Golden Ball has the same sponsor as Messi or something. Even Messi looked slightly embarrassed to receive it.

Neuer was alright but I wouldn't consider him the 'keeper of the tournie. He was lucky not to have been sent off in the final after poleaxing Higuain. Ochoa and Navas were the standout goalies of the tournament, in my book.

I felt dirty typing it, but fair's fair. Diving fanny that he is, he still had a good tournament.

Rodriguez was the player of the tournament for me, and Ochoa was the top goalkeeper. I think FIFA just wanted to give their awards to players who made it to the final, for some reason.
