So sad for Costa Rica, I wanted to see a match between South Americans in the semis Tuesday's match is basically a giveaway to the Germans.

I'm just gonna root for any team that isn't the Dutch

I thought it was a very good match, NL was very much on the offensive throughout the match but just couldn't break through; Costa Rica seemed to be aiming to winning by penalties (they did vs Greece IIRC, so why not), but NL deployed its secret goalie weapon.

NL vs Germany would be epic, we hate those fucking moffrican bastards ever since they took my grandpa's bicycle,

I'm not sure if Germany were actually playing well here. Granted I missed most of the first half.

Is more that Brasil didn't have Neymar and their captain Silva.

I'm still not sure about how good Germany is. They played brilliantly in their first match against Portugal and I thought they were going to be the team to beat in the tournament but they have been completely suspect ever since. They barely got passed Algeria in extra time.

Though honestly all 4 teams hadn't been exactly impressive throughout the tournament. Brasil and Argentina had been relaying too much on their superstars Messi and Neymar. Netherlands and Germany had impressive first wins and completely unimpressive performances ever since and have been lucky with injuries to opposing teams (Germany) and 'tactical falls' (Netherlands).

Surely a world class team should have more depth than two players though.

But any team is highly unlikely to win this deep in the tournament without their best player and captain.

Didn't expect them to fold so early. They were done for after the first German goal. I don't think it's the Germans being too brilliant either. Brazil was utterly lost without Thiago.

You can't help but feel bad for them though. They probably still wouldn't have won with Neymar and Silva but who would've thought that that would be the most embarrassing exit in history

I thought last night's game was humiliating for the world of football. When you think of a World Cup semi-final you expect to see a highly-charged, competitive fixture between some of the world's best footballing talent, not a "contest" that if this was a boxing match the Brazilian trainer would've thrown in the towel at half-time. Ze Germans weren't even that good, just efficient and direct enough to overwhelm an embarrassing Brazil side.

I can't believe my boys Colombia lost to that bunch of no hopers.

I don't think they gave up once Germany started scoring, I think they had given up long before the game even started. With Neymar and Silva I think it would've been a close game and either team could've won.

Brasil should now really think about what happened to the balanced team that so dominantly won the Confederations Cup last year.

Colombia lost simply because they weren't the better team.They got a lot promise for the future with their young players like James.

They looked really dazed after Muller's shot. And then came the second and they weren't even playing anymore.

A world class team could've at least bowed out gracefully. Silva and Neymar's absence exposed them as a team riding on luck and hype this World Cup.

Van Persie isn't confirmed to play today. Argentina better watch out for flying Dutchman Robben's 'tactics'
