Even if that's the case, what even was the point of calling it "Versus XIII" in the first place?

I mean, I get that the point is moot now, but... seriously, what were they thinking?

I guess they intended for it to have some tie-ins, parallels, or oppositions or something. The first trailers seemed a lot more grimdark, which was a strong contrast to XIII's more colorful wossname. But even so, it was fairly obvious that Versus was a completely different universe in many ways than XIII was.

Yeah, it was always separate. All three Fabula Nova Crystallis titles were to be different visions building on a few common mythos concepts (Etro, the realm of the dead, l'Cie, etc.). Agito XIII became FFType-0 but still more or less remained what it was always meant to be (with a wildly different take on l'Cie, fal'Cie, etc.), but Versus XIII changed drastically, with few FNC elements carrying over into FFXV.

The most obvious surviving artifact is probably the "Shigai" term (what Cie'th were called in the Japanese version of FFXIII), though it was utilized for a very different concept: what we know as "daemons" in the English localization.

(Obviously Noctis and his crew, as well as Insomnia, Niflheim, Regis, and other characters carried over from Versus XIII into FFXV, but they were all strictly components of Versus XIII to begin with rather than being FNC elements in general.)

As my archival work nears completion, I increasingly find my viewing of videos to consist of "Just press X! Just! Press! X! Fuck! Why would/wouldn't you do that?!"

I read something along these lines on reddit or neogaf a while ago:

Versus

1. Against someone or something, especially in a competition or court case.

2. Alternative to something: as opposed to or contrasted with such considerations as money versus job satisfaction.

Versus could have just meant opposite, since the story for FFXIII was fighting against fate and going up against the gods. Versus was the opposite of that, accepting your fate and fighting with the gods. They were opposite sides to each other.

Whenever I have time to watch gameplays of games that I play(except for FFXV since I don't have a PS4 yet), it seems other players just don't really pay attention to their surroundings, and it's like, "There it is! Go there!" and takes them a few minutes or longer to get to the said something or someone.

So I know what you're talking about.

Speaking of FFXV, Episode Gladiolus is actually pretty good, and the final battle against Gilgamesh soundtrack is brilliant that I ended up listening to it for 20 minutes each time I listen to the soundtrack since I love it so much.

Basically.

Though in this case it's often that they're one simple button press away from revealing information I need, only they then move on. So frustrating. I just need one endgame comment and a handful of radio broadcasts.

Basically.

For me, it's more of other players generally go the wrong way and not pay attention to the map or either the arrow or exclaimation mark to their pointed destination that gets to me like they have a bad sense of direction. ALWAYS gaze at the map before you go anywhere when you're playing a game...unless you don't have said map, of course.

What this means is that I'm now offering a little money to anyone who can resolve this for me. Any one of you stands to make as much as $20 for what should be a few really simple things to do for anyone who has the game:

You'll know it's the right result if Noct says something like "I like this one, even though no one is in it" and Iggy follows up with a comment that it must still have some kind of significance

, there should be a radio broadcast about Deadeye menacing the countryside. After he's been killed, the broadcasts about him change to being about the fact that he's dead. I've only been able to find videos about him being dead.

Provided you have a Chapter 3 save from before killing Deadeye, this should be really easy to get -- you can probably get it on the radio at the Alstor Crow's Nest right at the beginning of the chapter or off the radio at the Wiz Chocobo Post. There are also a couple of radios in Lestallum (one in the main entryway into the downtown area from the parking lots; another on the fountain outside the Leville Hotel)

. They should be really easy to get, though, provided you have a save on Chapter 5 from before the rain stops. In fact, if you have one from right at the beginning of the chapter, you can probably just run up to the radio sitting there on the barrel at Wiz's place.

There should be two broadcasts about the rain (something like "Thunder rings throughout Duscae" at the start of one of them; then something like "One look out your window's all you need" at the start of the other); one broadcast that begins "Now for a traffic update" and goes on to talk about repatriating Crown City citizens who fled; and one broadcast that talks about EXINERIS assuring everyone that the destruction of the Meteor at the Disc of Cauthess won't hinder power service

The base game already comes with En, JP, German & French dubs + their respective localized text in these 4 languages.

Wow, I'm not even sure how to feel at the moment. My research quest is complete: BlindingAwesomeness of Reddit/YouTube uploaded a video of the Chapter 5 radio broadcasts.

I've got a lot of FFXV lore information to finish organizing in the coming days (I've been making my best effort to organize as I go along), and I think I'll make a temporary sub-forum in this section for that purpose. That should make everything easier to put together properly in preparation for turning it all into actual frontpage articles. I want to go ahead, though, and thank everyone who has contributed, in whatever ways, even those of you who don't realize what you did.

Whether posting about information I needed to hunt down, posting the information itself, encouraging me in my efforts with post likes, or just continuing to discuss this game that I can't help but find myself loving -- and so eager to play -- despite its shortcomings: thanks, thanks, and thanks.
