FF Tactics Advance for GBA.

I did beat it, because it's the only GBA game I actually own. But goddamn, did not like. Hated the Law system, the characters/story did absolutely nothing for me, all-in-all very forgettable.

I considered putting down FF8, because after 30 minutes of it I just couldn't play it anymore, but that's not really giving it a fair chance.

DoC was also bad, but it seems almost too easy to pick it.

Gonna have to be the original II for me. Yes, I did enjoy DoC and FFTA more then II.

Didn't care for most of the characters, the only character I liked didn't even get a great ending like the rest of the crew (Quistis), found the story weirder and weirder once I went through it (outer space? random trips to the past and the reason behind it? lame excuse for why nobody remembered the orphanage?), and the gameplay was frustrating and tiresome. Plus, if I found both the main couple extremely annoying, why would I play through the game just to see how they fell in love (which turned out even more annoying)?

I only wish I could play as Laguna more, but that sadly didn't happen. If only the game had been about him instead of his fail of a son.

(I missed day 1, so I'll just quickly say that the Compilation spoiled ffvii enough for me that IX is my favourite game, even if the VIIOG is my favourite story maybe ever)

My least favourite numbered Final Fantasy would be XI or XIV because what the hell man why are those numbered Final Fantasies?? If they don't count (let's hope they don't) I'm going to have to say FFX. I just couldn't really get behind it at all. Even if they had removed or replaced the (atrocious) voice acting, the characters themselves were almost all irritating (exception: Auron). After playing Tactics, the conspiracy story in FFX seemed watered-down and childish.

Either that or FFIII, the only pre-Squeenix FF game I still haven't finished. Seemed like a step back from FFII in terms of storytelling and characters (even the DS remake, which should have been spectacular considering how much they were changing).

Oh yeah day 2.

I was originally going to say FFVIII. I tend to focus games a lot around how much I love the characters, and I hated half the cast in VIII. It also had my least favorite moment "LOL ORPHANAGE), and I strongly disliked the junctioning system. The romance felt like HrRRRN and I just wanted to completely skip all of it. The plot was nothing I was interested in. There where a few really cool locations but nothing that would stick in my mind like other games.

But I feel guilty about it because there was a lot about it I liked, like the artistic cutscenes and it having my favorite OST. And everything to do with Laguna.

Then I remembered, oh, spin offs! If we are allowed to put in, Dirge of Cerebus.

I spent the entire time like, "what the fuck am I playing? What the fuck is this?" Terrible dialogue, and some of the worst, least memorable characters to ever be introduced. Lucrecia went from a tragic woman who made mistakes, to being the worst plot device ever with absolutely no redeeming value.

It used a redundant plot (AND THEN THE LIFESTREAM GOES TO THE STARS ON A GUNDAM), the game was ugly with the exception of the cutscenes, which where limited to unimpressive action scenes. The gameplay wasn't terrible but it was mediocre.

It didn't feel like they failed to deliver on a decent game, because to fail you got to try.

In the end, there was only one thing I appreciated and it was that Square desperately tried to try something new and get away from just jrpg's. The need to diversify, I wholly accept and don't mind a failure or two. But using the FFVII name made it seem like a stupid cash grab and it was not needed.

Lowest part in FF.

Took the words right outta my mouth, on both accounts.

I was an impressionable kid when I first played FFVIII, and I was still on such a high from FFVII that I didn't notice its glaring flaws. Playing the game more recently, I found I couldn't get over the clunky battle system and ditched it during Disc 2.

As for DoC, what more can you say? Squenix just knocked out a half-assed filler title instead of giving the game the due care it needed to be a half-decent shooter.

FFX-2 was also a low-point, for me. I know it wasn't supposed to be taken seriously but it took the shine off of FFX's magic (why is everyone in Spira now an annoying jerk?), and the recycled character models and animation underscored its cheap production values.

Got to agree to those who said DOC. The new characters were annoying (and most of their deathbeds put a smile on my face) and the battle system was crap. The plot was shit, too.

As for the mais series, probably FFVIII and FFII. It's not like I don't like these two games, it's just that I never felt that they were at the level of the others.

FFVIII felt like two games in one. An awesome one in the two first discs (though with a crappy protagonist, an annoying love interest and a boring battle system but with lovely locations, interesting events and plot to an extent), a really crappy one in the two final discs (the same flaws, but without an interesting plot or events. The locations were ok, but some of them were boring as hell, too)

As for FFII, the game was fun, but when I finished it, I couldn't find anything that was truly memorable about it.

.

Gameplay was terrible. Most broken uninteresting shooter ever. The controls alone were borked enough to ruin the experience.

In the main series, VIII is probably my least favorite. I pushed myself to get more than halfway through it, and then just gave up because I seriously just hated it. The combat system was terrible, the characters were unlikable and one dimensional (I probably dislike Rinoa the least if only because she got a few laughs out of me when everyone else was pissing me off), and the "romance" was laughable.

Also I despise Eyes On Me. It's just terrible.

(Missed day 1. FF7's my favorite, surprising no one. Moving along.)

Yeah, I too have to give it to FFVIII. I somehow missed it back in the day. FFVII was the game that turned me into a "gamer" before that I was pretty casual, just playing Sonic and Twisted Metal 2 and such. So I guess it took awhile to take hole because IX was the next FF I played, followed by Tactics. So it was a little while for I played FFVIII.
I don't really have anything new to say that others haven't. No one in the cast is likable, Squall is ,well, Squall, Rinoa drove me up a wall, Selphie's insane, and no one else is standout enough to make up for that. Draw is far and away the worst magic system in the series. Junction is a cool idea but it is very easily broken and is needlessly complicated. The story has a strong enough start to keep me invested for the first two discs. But from the orphanage twist, it all nosedives.

I only actually bought it about 3 years ago merely for the sake of my collection. Started a game then, and got to when they're about to go space. But I had almost completely skipped drawing anything (nor did I do the card stuff), so I didn't have the strength or the will to go any further.

Least favourite of the main series: FFIII DS. I have literally tried four times to try and play this goddamn game. The furthest I have gotten before giving up is the water crystal part.

I just find this game terribly mediocre, uninteresting plot, lame characters I don't really care about, boring implementation of the job system etc.

The best thing I can say about that game is that the sprites were super cute.

Of the games I've played for more than about an hour, FFX-2 is my least favourite. There was nothing wrong with the gameplay, but everything else about the game made me cringe so much I couldn't even bring myself to complete it. There are plenty of entries in the series I simply haven't bothered playing much because I don't think I'll enjoy them, though, so I'm fairly certain that if I played more games in the series my opinion would change.

Of the main series: VIII is my "least-favourite" FF. The setting is OK, the characters aren't that bad (except for Rinoa, I hate her), and I actually could accept the gameplay... But the romance, oh god the romance.

XIII is my second least-favourite. Yeah, XIII. It was dissapointing, it's just a long and glorified corridor. The villains suck, the protagonists were totally unimpressive (except for Sazh), and the story is meh. Gameplay is pretty good, though. As a game it's really good, but fails as a FF.

Oh, and III... It's a good game, yeah, but it's so boring. Really boring.

For the spin offs I must say Dirge of Cerberus. I can tolerate X-2 ONLY because the gameplay is really good and as a game is actually pretty decent, but Dirge doesn't even have that. Games are supposed to be fun, but that game was a fucking punishment. I really wanted to enjoy it, but chapter after chapter it just gets more and more insane. The game has 2 and ONLY 2 good things; the music and Reeve Tuesti, the only decent character in the entire game.

Gonna have to be the original II for me. Yes, I did enjoy DoC and FFTA more then II.

You're talking about the NES version? I understand, that game is just hellish... But you can always play the remakes, specially the GBA and PSP ones, they improved everything that was wrong before and the gameplay now is much more forgiving and easy to catch. I'm sure you would change your mind... At least a little.

Online games or not, they're still main titles... I haven't played them and probably never will, but Vana'diel is actually an enormous world and has a lot of story. As for XIV... It appears it sucks.

Final Fantasy VIII is definitely my least favorite game. Not only could I not get into the two main characters, but their love story was so forced that it's just kind of sickening. And it'd be easy to ignore - IF THE WHOLE FUCKING STORY DIDN'T SUDDENLY REVOLVE AROUND IT. Rinoa was lost in space --- I like to end the game there. I did like the other characters in this game though, and it's a shame that Squall and Rinoa are *so* important that we don't get any depth for anyone else. And lol @ Irvine being a troll. HURRDURR GAIZ I KNEW ALL ALONG WE WERE ALL FROM TEH SAME ORPHANAGE ISN'T DAT FUNNY!? And then I get to hear Rinoa bitch and moan about how lonely she is and how she isn't accepted when people are escorting her around, calling her princess, and always encouraging her. Cry. moar.

Aside from the characters, I hated the junctions. I also hated the fact that you had to draw your magic. That is the stupidest idea ever. I did like Laguna's story as a pro, and I did like the areas (the world they created in general).

Oh, and I love eyes on me. ♥

Final Fantasy X is my least favourite.... I cannot stand, Tidus. He is so annoying, and self- centered. " This is MY story " ! epsically during the Yunalesca part, and Yuna must make a important decision, and what does Tidus say ? " This is MY story " ! Tidus thinks that it's all about him. I also for the life of me, can't stand Auron or Wakka either, and Lulu too, and the blue lion thing ? Completely forgettable, what was the point of adding him in ? I dislike Auron, because he put the idea into Tidus's head that it was his adventure, and Wakka is obnoxious and annoying, and Lulu seems so cold and rude to Wakka. Also the story is very linear, and the music is kind of plain compared to something like FFIX, which came before it. Plus you can't control the airship... I know that XII and XIII has this too, but XII has a mature and sophisticated plotline, and XIII, I believe that it's a bad game, but it's not my least favourite, because I dislike X and FF X frustrates me more.

I do like X- 2 though, maybe because most of the annoying characters the original had, like Tidus are gone, and it has Baralai and Gippal in it. <3 <3

Day 3 - favourite FF song:

Man, hard fucking question. If we're allowed to count updated versions, then I'd say Opera Maria and Draco from Distant Worlds. I think my head will explode if I try to pick a favourite original song, Nobuo's just too awesome.

Favorite song...............Jenova Complete tied with the Boss Battle music from IX. There are so many I like though. Third place is a tie of just about everything Crisis Core and VI.

Day 1-Alright, I guess I'm a little late to the Party, but, Final Fantasy X was my first Final Fantasy and still my Favorite. I mean, c'mon, IT'S SO FUCKING EPIC. And A memrobal scene with Tidus and Yuna laughing is my Icon.^^ And...Second to that...Darn, that's a tough one. Well I want to put VII and XIII for my second one that I think are great.

And moving on to the second day-I really hate VIII. Final Fantasy VIII, I just don't find the story intresting and the Charaters (except Laguna) weren't that great. XII was bad too, but I enjoyed the music.^^

Now for Day 3- Favorite Song, Theme, Music? I guess it has to be Yuffies Theme. Yup, I love that fucking Ninja Materia stealing Bitch.^^

Here's my completely new and shocking answer [/sarcasm] Liberi Fatali.

VIII's got my favorite soundtrack and Liberi Fatali is still the best thing to come out of the game. I remember seeing the opening and hearing this completely epic piece of work and thinking "oh shit this game is going to be awesome-" Well that went somewhere else but Liberi Fatali almost always manages to trick me into playing the game again. I will never understand why this gorgeous piece plays second to OWA in the FF series.

VIII also has man with the machine gun which is my favorite regular battle song.

I already listed my favorites in VII, as being on the other side of the mountain and edge of despair.

But I have to say, I'm with Nara, I loved Crisis Core's ost. I have the entire thing on my computer<3

The first one that gathered a real emotional response from me was The Burdened which plays in Aerith's church. I kind of totally stayed in the church longer than I should have just so I could listen to that song.

My third would be Dust to Dust in FFXIII. FFXIII had a good but otherwise not as memorable ost compared to the others in the franchise. But Dust to Dust coupled with the desolate environment of Oerba= doing it right. This is how atmosphere is created.

^SO AWESOME

And of course,

Honorable mentions: Dancing Mad, Aria Di Mezzo Carattere ((FFVI)), Theme of Love ((FFIV))

This is really hard ffffff. I love the soundtracks for VII, IX, and XIII so much it's hard to pick on between them. I like Fang's theme and Will to Fight from FFXIII a lot. VII would have to be Aeris' theme (no shocker there) and The Great Warrior.

For FFIX The place I'll Return to Someday and EVERY VARIATION ON KUJA'S THEME EVER. Seriously. This dude has the best badass theme music. It's like We Will Rock You...EVILLY.

However my favorite theme for an FF game is definitely Kaze No Ne:

Every time I pop in Crystal Chronicles and I hear it I'm just like AWWWWWWWW YEEEEEEEEEEEEAH

Day 3: It might be "The Promised Land" from Advent Children, a song so spectacular it sometimes tricks me into starting that movie again.

If it has to be the main series, here are my top 3. I'm going on OST, no remixes, remastered, orchestrations or anything, just what's on the soundtrack.

3. Towards That Gate (FFIX)
2. Anxious Hearts (FFVII)
1. Liberi Fatali (FFVIII)

Representatives from my favourite soundtracks. I love FFVI's music, but the MIDI quality bothers me.
