Choco from IX. I love the "K-KWEHHH!!!" sound he makes when he finds a chocograph treasure. And it was exciting to find the chests with the strange smoke inside, because I knew he'd gain new abilities and I'd get moar treasures.

Favorite chocobo theme is a tie between Mods de Chocobo and Odeka de Chocobo, both from VIII.

Going to have to go with the black chocobos, because in either Final Fantasy 5 or 4... I can't remember, when you pick up a black chocobo, it does this cool little dance ;3\\

I'm now hardcore craving KFC now....

Day 09 - Favourite Moogle Version.
FFIX.

I have no idea why I love Mognet. Also, I'm surprised I never tire of the save sequence in IX because you have to go through it everytime. Maybe it's the badass flip book thing.

I also like Dissidia's moogles. They send me spam email. Also I keep imagining Cid as a moogle now and the game is more awesome like that.

In terms of Chocobo's version, I would go with IX's. They even have their own Paradise. :awesome:

In terms of Chocobo's sub-species, then it would be VII's Gold Chocobo. Hard to get, but oh-so rewarding to own.

As for Moogles, yeah, definitely the ones from IX too. It's funny to have Save Points that talk to us. lol

Though I also find XII's Moogles cute.

Yeah, IX wins the Moogle prize for me too.

I'm going to have to go....with a tie between FFVI's and FFIX's moogles.

FFVI because it gave us one of the coolest moogles of all time, period. :monster:

And I'm also a big fan of the spam email empire that is Mognet as well. The weirdass yet hilarious emails moogles send to you just never cease to amuse me.

IX and XII moogles for me. ♥ FUCKING ADORABLE.

I too like the idea for mognet, and I liked how the save points were books that they wrote in. Such a neat idea. c:

Hmmmm.

06: I'll write just a pair, you guys wrote a lot of good ones anyway:

FFI: The intro at the bridge. It's easily the most moving moment of the game, IMO. The extra dungeons of the GBA remake are pretty interesting and epic, too.
FFII: Soul of Rebirth.
FFIV: Anything related to The Giant of Babil was pure epicness.
FFVI: The whole fucking game.
FFVII: The attack of SAPPHIRE Weapon on Junon and the Huge Materia quests.
FFXII: That moment when you beat Yiazmat and feel all pro. :neo:

07: This sums up nearly everything I could say here:
My least favourite parts always have to do with Guide Dang It shit. Like the fact that you have to wait for Shadow on the Floating Continent (although at least I've always known about that from the first time I played the game; luckily I was warned) or the chests that contain better items if you wait until later in the game to open them. I also don't like the fact that you lose Speed stat bonuses forever if you "upgrade" Odin to Raiden, and I don't like having to choose between the Ragnarok esper and the Ragnarok sword. So basically stuff that you can lose forever due to carelessness and choices that force you to choose between two items bother me.

But well, I got used to little things like that.

08: Oh, so you think your little, cute, yellow birds are cool? Let me show the the true, original Chocobo, the FFII Chocobo:

FFII_Chocobo.jpg

09: Heh. When I was little (like, 8 or something like that) and didn't know much about english I actually thought the giant Moogle of Cait Sith was alive... It was a big letdown to discover that it was just a giant robot... :( Actually, I paid MORE attention to the giant doll in question than to the "little cat thing".

Anyway, the moogles of VI are my favorites. But, still ;;... Oh, and the Ivalice moogles are pretty good, too.

Day 8: My favorite chocobo would probably be the FFX chocobo. Those little suckers were so cute. Although I like the FFVII ones cause they come in all different colors :awesome:

Day 9: All moogles are cute. But I'm going with the Crystal Chronicles moogles. COME ON. They're so fuzzy and adorable.

Favorite Moogle:

A tie between Crystal Chronicals and FFIX. :monster: They are both cute and useful. I would put Dissidia in second only because of their mail system. Those silly moogles! :awesome:

Double Growth
IX moogle, easily. I tend to prefer the more humanoid moogles of IX (and the Compilation's moogle doll) vs the puffball ones (Crystal Chronicles) or the animal ones (XII)

Mog in VI is the only one that actually joins your party, so a strong case could be made for VI's moogles, but the IX moogles are so involved with just about every aspect of the game, so a strong case could be made for them as well. I'd say it's a tie. As for the moogle theme, the best version is definitely the version of "Critter Tripper Fritter?!" on Final Fantasy V: Dear Friends. It actually sounds like you'd expect moogles to behave.

Moogles from IX, for the reasons everyone said.

(as for chocobos, FFVII got me accustomed to "wark" and the sound 'warheehoo' so all other chocobos aren't chocobo-ish enough for me. Fav. Chocobo theme is Cinco, because Brubeck is win)

^Ditto

I'll agree with IX for all the reasons stated above. I'll elaborate a bit on the other option.

In terms of design i think
Moogle_FFXII.jpg
Their outfits are a nice balance between adorable and cool. I just like how 'realistic' they look in comparison to the normal stuffed fluffballs of the other games. They're also the ones that blend most seamlessly into the world imo.

I would've put more thought into the chocobo answer but honestly I kind of don't like chocobos and think they are kinda dumb. MOOGLES ARE SO MUCH COOLER FUCK YEAH.

Favorite moogle easily, the one from Crystal Chronicles:

Just look at these cute, fat bastards. How can you say no to those faces? I loved how their little roly poly bodies would randomly fall over because they had no arms to balance themselves. Also you got your own personal moogle to paint, wash, and trim any way you wanted so you had your own unique little buddy following you around.

Plus your personal mog followed you to every ridiculous, dangerous place you went just to help you carry the damn chalice. It helped you get so attached to the little fellows.

Day 10: Best Final Fantasy scene ever.

Honestly, my gut feeling is to go with the Lifestream sequence. FFVII isn't even anywhere near close to being my favourite game, but that scene was just perfectly executed in every way. All the elements of the plot, which had previously seemed to be completely nonsensical, finally came together in a way that made sense, and it was done in the manner that delivered the most emotional impact imaginable. It's one thing about FFVII that simply could not have been done better given the technology of the day and if the entire game was up to the quality of that one scene it would almost certainly be my favourite FF game by a mile.

Another scene that is an absolute standout is the "You're Not Alone" sequence in FFIX. This didn't have nearly the plot impact that the Lifestream sequence did, but it was just as integral to Zidane's character as the Lifestream sequence was to Cloud's, and it was just as skilfully executed for, once again, the maximum imaginable emotional impact. It does not hurt that the music behind this scene is one of the best pieces Nobuo has ever composed.

Finally, there is, of course, the opera. I have already outlined why this is my favourite music of any Final Fantasy game, so I shan't repeat myself, but everything I said above applies just as strongly here as it did there. I honestly had to restrain myself to listing only one FFVI scene, as I could easily have listed half the game here if I had let myself, but this is definitely the standout moment of the game.

Going back to the best music piece from like five days ago, I'm going to have to retract what I said about the Opera being unequivocally the best piece of Final Fantasy music. This piece (note that it contains spoilers, and the videos don't work anymore) has given me even more appreciation for Dancing Mad than I had previously. I can't really add anything to what the writer said, but seriously, read it. It's absolutely brilliant analysis, and picks up on some things I hadn't even thought of.

So yeah, Dancing Mad is now tied with the opera. Can't pick between 'em. As an added bit of trivia, a more accurate translation of the song's Japanese title would be something like "Ominous Star Mad Dance" or "Wild Dance of the Ominous Star." Which is just awesome.

Best FF scene ever. If I had to pick one and only one scene out of every single FF, it would most definitely be...
"You're Not Alone" sequence in FFIX.

By that point in the game, I was extremely attached to Zidane as a character. In the beginning he was a carefree thief, a playful flirt, but he knew when to be serious also. His quote was also one of my favorites: "You don't need a reason to help people". As time went on and he grew as a character, shared his beliefs on the world and spoke of how much promise life had... it was very interesting to see him finally break down. And not in the way he did when Garnet became Queen, but where he actually believed that he was an empty shell. Where he questioned his identity, wondered if he was human. Not only is the music very powerful here, but the way his friends come in one by one and pick him up from the depths of his depression, is just absolutely touching. I hold my friendships as something very important in my life, so this touched me most out of any scene I've ever watched go on in any FF. At the end of it all, Garnet was there too. It was like... the hero had to be rescued for once, and by the Princess (now Queen) herself.

And during this scene, I really felt like I had went on a really long ass journey. Felt like through all the shit Zidane's been through, he'd been a strong character that helped everyone and never spent much time on himself. This was his time to break down, to show his weakness, to show the importance of his friendships and the bonds he made with each of them along such a difficult journey. And also, the strength of his love for Garnet as well.

Also in this scene, he pushes his friends away but they don't give up. Even Steiner says that he's not going to abandon Zidane. Idk this part of the game has always been absolutely emotional and awesome. ;-;

However I also hold the Opera scene in FFVI very highly... I think it may even tie with this one. The music is gorgeous, the words spoken in the play are gorgeous... everything about it is just plain gorgeous. xD With a touch of hilarity as well. >w> It has everything that a good performance does. I just love when Celes declares that she's not some Opera floozy. x'D I also adore the scene of her letting the boquet of roses float away off of the balcony. *A* There's just something about that that captivates me.

So, aside from those two scenes one in which I... took WAY too seriously and looked WAY too into I think xD, here's a~
HONORABLE MENTION
FFIV--> Paying all of that gil was worth it to see Cecil dance.
