Study is interesting. Findings lack references. As someone attuned to reading a metric farking ton of medical journals on a regular basis, I see flaws in this report.
Study 1 is okay. From the material they have there isn't much room for bias. Male, female, ethnicity. Fair enough.
Study 2: define "traditional" and "hypersexual", like they defined "sexually revealing clothing". Lead it back onto the analysis. "Three times as likely" is a general statement, and it sounds like an assumption.
Study 3: give examples in the films being studied. Especially with such a small sample size. That way I can believe that these "aspirations" and "heroic actions" are "to be commended". Honestly, this is analysis without giving the reader proof or reference to check up on.
Study 3: "Unrealistic"? What defines "unrealistic"? Is there a set value for this? A lot of those statements use numbers that aren't explained clearly enough. It'd be much better to have numbers of characters rather than just percentages, and god forbid, ratios.
If we compared this to a legitimately valid report, this is nothing more than an Abstract. Link me to the full article plox
EDIT: It is an abstract. Disregard, then.
It is genuinely interesting, though. Full article is much better. http://www.thegeenadavisinstitute.org/pdfsrc.php
Still doesn't define "unrealistic", though, which is in itself a very subjective word.
