Paul Rudd as Scott Lang

I didn't really care for Ant-Man but this being an Edgar Wright movie intrigues me. Not much is known about the story yet except that it's apparently going to be a "heist movie".

^...the story of a man cursed by evolution to have his recurrent inferior laryngeal nerve run all the way down his neck and up again...

From what I saw about Ant-Man in the cartoons I don't know if I could take him seriously... but the director made me interested just a little.

I'm hoping with Paul Rudd's casting that they'll go with Eric O'Grady's Ant-Man, as EOG was a funny man and not a galloping douche-nozzle like Pym.

They might fuse that personality with Hank Pym. They made the best out of Iron Man back in '08. Surely, they can do some distillation here for Pym. The powers they have may be dogshit, but Wasp is ever so gorgeous.

I wonder what he will do as Ant Man. Will he just control ants like earlier incarnations? Will he shrink down to ant size while retaining his full size strength? Will be have other size changing powers? Kind of hoping it will be more of a Hank Pym movie, than just Ant Man.

Ant-Man is the most mentally-unstable member of the group :monster:

They could spend movies picking his brain apart.

Also, Edgar Wright linked to an interview about Ant-Man from 2006...so it's probably still relevant. :P

SHH!: I think it's interesting that the Ant-Man you knew and grew up with was the Scott Lang one, since most people I would think know the one who hung with the Wasp in "Tales to Astonish."

Wright: Well, the thing is that what we want to do, the idea that we have for the adaptation is to actually involve both. Is to have a film that basically is about Henry Pym and Scott Lang, so you actually do a prologue where you see Pym as Ant-Man in action in the 60's, in sort of "Tales to Astonish" mode basically, and then the contemporary, sort of flash-forward, is Scott Lang's story, and how he comes to acquire the suit, how he crosses paths with Henry Pym, and then, in an interesting sort of Machiavellian way, teams up with him. So it's like an interesting thing, like the "Marvel Premiere" one that I read which is Scott Lang's origin, it's very brief like a lot of those origin comics are, and in a way, the details that are skipped through in the panels and the kind of thing we'd spend half an hour on.
