Falcon & Cap found Bucky, and need Scott's help, because the accords won't let them get help from Ironman, and they don't think Stark'll believe them anyway.
The movie was fun, fantastic, and just all around excellent. I have nothing but good things to say about it.
Since Avengers 2 only had a midcredit scene, I want to make sure that no one thinks that that was the one scene and skip out, since it has two.
Also, I thought it was interesting that in the film,
there weren't any jokes about the name "Ant-Man" like the trailers showed and the, "Break into a place and steal some stuff" line was actually, "Break into a place and steal some shit." I think that Marvel's getting good at doing tone with minor misdirection from the final cut to pull things off like that.
It was pretty good. Nothing amazing, but nothing to run home and tell mom about. The best bits are in the use of his powers (both in combat and out), selling us on him actually being a credible super hero, and Michael Douglas' performance.
The script was pretty lacking I thought. It didn't draw me in really which let me figure things out pretty easily. Normally if I'm watching a movie, in the moment I'm not thinking about where things could go, or what this line could mean for the future, etc. It didn't cover up the foreshadowing well at all.
There was also some emotional scenes that simply didn't work. Mainly talking about
Antonty. The only thing they gave us to connect to it is that he calls it Antony, otherwise it's just another ant. Yet they have a sad following his wing shot and the hero vowing vengence.
I am SO glad they had non-realistic cg for the ants, whether intentional or not. If they did, I would have been terrified by this movie. Hell, Honey I Shrunk The Kids still unnerves me a bit.
About the second stinger:
What exactly do they need help with? To get him psychological help, since he seems pretty broken? Does it have anything to do with that metal thing he was cowering against? It sort of looked like some sort of armor to me, but I honestly have no clue what it was, or if it was even anything at all
Overall, it's fun, go see it. I've seen some people claiming it's the best out of Phase 2, which, I just don't get. I'd put it on the same level of the Thors, which are the second worst of the MCU above Hulk, imo.
Just got back from seeing this. I highly enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun and took every opportunity it could to make jokes about their size.
The fact that the epic final battle took place in a little kid's bedroom slays me. It all seems so epic, then you see it from Cassie's perspective and not much is really going on.
