I was surprised to see this topic was only 3 pages long instead of 13 a day later and now I understand. No more Jessie shitposting!
Aaanyways, it was very cool seeing the trio once again. They are some of my favorite characters from the OG and usually one of the first groups of characters that I remember when I thought about the game. All three sounded like how I imagined and I thought Gideon Emery, Matt Jones, and Erica Lindbeck gave amazing performances for each. I shed a tear for Biggs when he "died" at the pillar, thinking that his role in the Remake was done and that we would never see him again (unless we get a Re-Remake 30 years from now). Later, I felt robbed of that moment in the ending along with Wedge surviving (then "dying" off-screen, we all know how that goes) and MAYBE Jessie surviving too. Since I figure Wedge is going to show up somewhere in the sequel, I hope Jessie stays dead so that the pillar collapse has more impact.

I've said it before, but I feel like the remake already cheapened the platefall by having all the named NPCs survive along with Biggs and Wedge, so they might as well go 3 for 3 with Avalanche. Jessie's back story with the gold saucer is definitely going to play in when the party goes there regardless of if she's alive anyway.
I'm not about to go raving about how she needs to be the main love interest or a fucking party member like a lunatic though.

Call me cynical, but I'm sure S-E knew that Jessie was gonna be the most popular (ie. waifu-bait) of the three, hence the hints to her fate being more cryptic than that of Biggs/Wedge.

Of all the characters in FFVIIR, Wedge is the one I could most easily live with. He knows what's important in life: cats, good food, friends, and a cause you believe in. He has an optimistic, can-do spirit and doesn't sweat the small stuff. Jessie's flirting would rub me up the wrong way and Bigg's worry-wart tendencies would drive me crazy, but Wedge? Wedge is a really good guy.

I don't think he did die though. If the Whispers knocked him out of the building, it doesn't mean they didn't land him carefully like they had done before. Just imagine, if SE had shown us the whole trio safe and sound, we would be yelling that there are too many survivors

It’s funny how he always complained we would never talk about Jessie because “we didn’t like her,” when it was only because it would activate him to railroad the discussion.
