Well, to start with, his attempt to break Batman with Fear in Asylum was interrupted by the fact that he got attacked (and apparently severely mauled) by Killer Croc.
That attack why I figure that his face is severely injured to the point of looking skeletal, and his voice is more ragged, rather than most of it being hidden by a mask. (Starts at 0:27)
Although he sounded a bit more like his new version when he was all Fear Toxin'd:
Even during the whole of Arkham City he was in the planning stages of gathering resources for a large-scale retaliation directly at Gotham - since the city falling is Batman's biggest fear. I figure if anyone from the series had a serious personal bone to pick with Batman, it's Crane because of his injuries and obsession with researching on a subject who's directly overcome his fear toxin.
It also looks like he's employing the same Fear Toxin-based fighting tactics as he did before.
Aside from making the alliances to directly attack Gotham on a large scale (which is an opportunity to expand his research to the largest possible sample size), which was established during the second game, I don't see him as being too different from how he was in Arkham Asylum.
That being said, he's been shown as still operating behind the scenes in the comics so far, but if anything specific comes up, I'll drop it in here.
