To do as many movies as he did in those 4 years, as well as all the charity work he did, with such a debilitating illness beggars belief. He’s left an incredible legacy, but it’s heartbreaking for his life to be cut so cruelly short.

I haven't seen Black Panther, but I did see another film of his, 42, where he played the role of Jackie Robinson, the baseball star who broke the color barrier in the Major Leagues.

Ironically, he passed on the day MLB was celebrating Jackie Robinson Day (which was postponed due to the pandemic).

This has actually hit me quite hard. This is so devastating. The fact that he continued to do what he is passionate about whilst struggling with his illness just shows the type of character that he is. He kept it quiet, he kept it personal to him and his family, and he soldiered on. It goes to prove, once again, that people need to be more kind and stop this immediate knee-jerk reaction at lynching people without knowing their story. I remember the really nasty comments when the photos of his weight loss came out. You just don't know what people are dealing with personally.

And yes, this is also a massive blow for representation and having a black superhero to look up to.

Shutting down rumors that the Marvel Studios executives (like Fiege) were aware of Chadwick's condition. Like everyone that wasn't directly close to him, they didn't know at all.

In other sad things:

"A source close to Boseman tells The Hollywood Reporter that the 43-year-old actor, who had become noticeably thin in recent months, was convinced until about a week before his death that he was going to beat cancer."
