I'd like to - gasp - change my username for the first time since I joined here in 2012.
And the name I'd like to adopt is
Sekizoku.
Background: I've been stuck between two usernames for the last few years. I use Estesark pretty much everywhere other than here. I like that it doesn't really mean anything, so it's always available when I sign up somewhere, but I don't like that nobody knows how to say it and it doesn't lend itself easily to a nickname like Flintlock does with "Flint". Unfortunately,
Flintlock already means something - it's a type of gun, or the mechanism used to fire those guns, and I signed up with it because of the Final Fantasy Tactics A2
job class of the same name. It's taken just about everywhere I might want to use it.
I've been toing and froing between alternative names for a while, but today I noticed the Japanese name for Flintlock on the FF Wiki, Mahashi. It's also taken almost everywhere, but it inspired me to look up the Japanese for flintlock, flint and related words. Flintlock is, funnily enough, "furintorokku", but that sounds silly. I thought about just Furinto but it's already in use in many places. Eventually I came across Sekizoku, meaning a flint arrowhead - if that's wrong, please correct me! - and thought it sounded pretty good.
I expect it will feel weird not being Flintlock, so I'm going to give it a trial period before deciding whether or not to keep it. Please continue to call me Flint, not least because I will be Flint, just in another language.
I will edit my AKA field momentarily.
