I liked the story, but those transparent smartboards and stuff seemed a bit much...

Yeah, I liked how low-tech Castle generally is compared to shows like CSI or Bones, so I was happy to see the smartboards go too. Though I definitely wouldn't mind Agent Shaw guest starring again, her character was awesome.

She's mainly what I liked about it

I dunno, the hi-tech James Bondy stuff dooesn't bother me. I do like that it's certainly not an aspect of Castle, I just liked the way they used it in those episodes to make a statement about how although Beckett doesn't use all the latest gadgetry she's still epic win at what she does.

Yeah he's definitely going to be back at some point. You gotta give it to the guy what he did to Castle was brilliant, he basically put him in a "failure is the only option" situation but the second option being the intended one and much more rewarding for himself.

He's definitely one of the most compelling villains on the show. I can see why they keep bringing him back. He's incredibly creepy.

I think my only complaint with the 3XK thing (whose return, despite the fact I read most spoilers, I somehow managed to be surprised by) was the lack of Ryan's reaction to him being back. After all, he was technically the one that let 3XK escape the first time (since Castle wasn't even armed). Hopefully we'll get more Ryan the next time he reappears.

Also did anyone else notice how when Beckett was unloading on 3XK and he was still in the car she just had this fucking TERMINATOR FACE on. Like she looked positively murderous, no doubt because 3XK had spent the episode threatening/fucking with Castle's life. And then a few moments later he gets the same treatment from Castle because he was threatening Beckett. Moral of the story, don't fuck with Caskett.

That episode was awesome. I loved all the references to BSG, Firefly, Star Trek, etc. I do wish there had been Doctor Who references though, but I guess it being British didn't help
