But he's not promoting anything unhealthy. I don't think he's the one to put the blame on
if people become paranoid after reading his book. I can see why some would become grossed out - like, that part where they tell you how they kill the pigs, but otherwise, it's almost like a manual to eating healthily. He's an expert at this stuff, even more than we are. The way he explains how to properly eat may give a wider aspect to those who don't eat properly - like anorexics. What anorexic people do are diets, binging, not eating at all - meanwhile, this book at least
does let one eat properly. Is there anything wrong with eating vegetables? He's not abandoning the idea of eating something unhealthy at times.
The way meat is raised is a horribly inefficient use of resources, and the more the population of the planet increases the more impractical it'll be. That said I haven't managed to make myself stop eating it, but I only eat poultry at this point.
While I still do eat meat, there were a couple of days where I couldn't stand the smell of meat after reading the book. But even so, I doubt that all do that.
EDIT:
Tiff, it's an author named Michael Pollan. You should check out his books, including The Omnivore's Dilemna, and In Defense of Food.
